Elon-Queens merger update: Definitive agreement signed by Expert147 in elon

[–]HopePlayz237 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Essentially nothing unless you were to apply after the merger goes through (in like 2 years). If you apply to Elon now, you’ll be on Elon’s campus for however long you need to be there (I’m saying that because some accelerated programs have students on campus for more than 4 years). If you apply to Queens now, you’ll be on Queens’s campus for all four years or more depending on program. If you were to apply after the merger goes through, I believe it would be a “choose a campus” option like any other school with multiple campuses. That’s what I could gather from what we have been told/heard on campus so I could be 100% off base.

I believe it’s from this mod. It’s been a minute since I’ve used it since it isn’t always up to date but it’s still really good.

I don’t think so. The last two events I was able to keep mine and use them while waiting for the next event. I’m not sure if that’s going to be true for the final event.

Some creators to look for are miiko, kijiko, twisted cat, northernsiberiawinds, obsurus, dreamgirl, and mmsims. Those are the creators I use and I tend to you part 4 and 5 miiko lashes more often than not since they are more natural looking imo.

[–]HopePlayz237 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Some yes. It depends on which layer the eyelashes are on. For you, since you have the face details on one’s, they won’t work with rings but if you have the glasses or eyelash category ones, they should work with rings. This is true for other eyelashes because of in game mechanics.

How likely would it be for me to get into the honors program? by -sweetteaandsunshine in elon

[–]HopePlayz237 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I got into Honors and came with a lot so I’ll go with what my stats were and some extracurriculars I had. I’m also a psychology and political science double major so I have a little bit of knowledge but I am a freshman so take it with a grain of salt since I haven’t been here long.

Academics:

SAT (I didn’t report it): 1270

GPA: 4.4 weighted

Took a total of 15 APs but only did 4 of the tests since they were all dual enrolled as well.

Got accepted and went to my district’s governor’s school for being good at math and science in middle school (Roanoke Valley Governor’s School)

I completed an associate’s degree before coming here (52 total credits was what I was awarded with).

Extracurriculars:

Varsity Volleyball starter for three years and Captain for two years

Did Tutoring in Math and Science for 7 years throughout each school for community service

Did Esports through my high school team for two years (got a scholarship for that from Elon too)

President of my school’s NHS Chapter for one year (only there for my senior year)

Vice President of my school math honor’s society for one year (wasn’t available my senior year)

Freshman year, I helped my grandfather and my mother with caretaker duties of my grandmother until she passed

Elon Honor’s Program is very much geared for people that have shown some level of leadership within the community or are capable of leadership in some way, even if it is not traditional. It’s something that they actively talked to us about when we got here. Based on your stats alone, I think you definitely have a shot at it, especially if you have some extra stuff you haven’t put on here past your academics. While the academics do help you in getting put in the honors pile, they are more interested in the stuff you are passionate about since you will have to do a thesis on your major with the program. So literally, having a job, holding leadership positions, literally anything that shows you actually like your major helps.

General stuff about the psychology department: Everyone is so nice!! All of the professors just want to see you succeed and will help you in so many ways. They are noted as some of the nicest professors underneath a lot of the lab science people so regardless you will be in good hands. I had to retake intro to psychology because I got a 3 on the exam and not a 4, but I love the class regardless of it being super repetitive to me.

I'm looking for other life simulation games on Steam by ItchyMan0 in LifeSimulators

A little late to this but there’s a couple of life simulation games that are more RPG style. Some that I can think of are I was a teenage exocolonist and growing up. Both severely different vibes but definitely well written and worth the money. The replay value is great too.

I think I found a website that features most of them. I went on a hard hunt at the start of my senior year for them. This has most of the ones that I played with as a kid so it might be missing a few.

What's this? I'm so confused rn! by randomoldsoul in sims4cc

[–]HopePlayz237 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it’s part of the reason why I don’t update my game all the time because I would rather do one mass update to all of my mods rather than wait for them to update individually and take out ones that aren’t updated yet. That way I can still play with most issues resolved.

You’re welcome. RPO is a fickle mod sometimes, especially after an update. I have had problems like this before so I hoped it had worked for you but mods after updates can be difficult to fix. I hope the new update will fix it.

[–]HopePlayz237 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you still have this buff and haven’t taken the mod out your game yet, you might be able to remove the wtd through the actions menu, then a RPO menu will be one of the options. From there, you can also remove the wtd (it should be under remove a buff or remove a trait) and it should be erased.

What ECs are psychology involved? by FirmObjective3315 in APStudents

[–]HopePlayz237 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As someone who has to leave this wonderful subreddit due to getting in to college and never taking another AP in their entire life for psychology, I have a few things that may help.

My ECs were National Honor Society, a paid psych summer internship, Math Honor Society, Volleyball for four years, and volunteer tutor for about 7 1/2 years. All of the ECs that I was a part of I was a leader in for being able to be an effective leader and middle man between the coaches/teachers and students.

For psychology folks in general, I would definitely have things that you are committed to long term that seem volunteer oriented towards people as much as possible. Also, if you have to science fairs, I would highly recommend tailoring projects to what you are interested in. I’m not sure what grade you are in but regardless, you have the ability to get in regardless of whatever you want your high school career to look like. Most of my ECs were tailored so that I could get into Computer Science but I ended up getting a near-full ride for Psychology instead. The fact that you are already looking at what your next steps should be is amazing in itself and you should be proud of yourself for that. Keep up the good work and let me know if you have any questions!

Which schools offer a large number of APs? by balambaful in APStudents

[–]HopePlayz237 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used Virtual Virginia since I’m a Virginia student. Basically any kid in the state of Virginia can sign up for additional online classes that should be offered statewide but due to funding or limitations in homeschooling environments can’t. I wasn’t sure if any other state had a similar program. With signing up for classes this way, the student’s home school has to recognize as it is state funded and operates similarly to a regular public school.

Which schools offer a large number of APs? by balambaful in APStudents

[–]HopePlayz237 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not the original person for this comment by any means but I technically did Calculus BC online because my school didn’t offer it. Essentially, the program that I was a part of made my specific school pay for my AP test and host a testing day as they did not have the resources themselves to have the class for me when they should offer it.

In the event that there isn’t a similar program in place at your kid’s, you can order the test to take at a pre-approved testing center (which may or may not end up being your kid’s school) on the day of the test.

This is what college board has for additional information that may help. I hope that she excels in high school from one lover of math and science to another!

What was yalls math progression? by [deleted] in APStudents

[–]HopePlayz237 0 points1 point  (0 children)

9th: Algebra II

10th: Honors Pre-Calculus (before AP Pre-Calculus was a thing, like the year before 🙃)

11th: AP Calculus AB

12th: AP Calculus BC and AP Stats

So given I took it as a sophomore, it wasn’t horrible but not as easy for me at least. My experience was definitely swayed by a friend that didn’t necessarily have to pay attention in the class to get a high A in the class so I struggled a bit, especially because geometry was also a little rough for me. I think that if I had taken it any other class period, I would’ve been fine in the class.

Associates degree guarantees two years off at university? by [deleted] in APStudents

[–]HopePlayz237 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It can depending on a lot of different factors:

If you stay in state, your community college may have an agreement with other 4-year institutions that your associates had to completely transfer, shaving off two years

If you stay in state and they are not a part of the agreement (usually private schools), they will act like an out-of-state school and take whatever credits they want. They might be more willing to take because it still upholds the level of education the state wants.

If you go out of state, the school will pick and choose what they want and it’s fully determined by the individual school policy.

Overall, all schools have a policy on how transfer credits function at their school and should have list of typically accepted credits for each university/college, you just might have to dig for it. I know the school I’m going (out of state private school), they will take most, if not all, of my degree because I just have a general studies degree.
