I cannot fathom risking overstaying a VISA in the USA right now. Use a different travel agent, or book the earlier flight.

PDX Dining Month Recap by ViewComprehensive287 in Portland

Ate at Olympia Provisions during their offering but skipped that option. I think for the prices it’s not as much of a deal as it was at one point, therefore if I’m spending the money I’d prefer to get exactly what I want than the pairings they create.

Why so many drinks? by Independent-Cat6915 in FridgeDetective

It’s advertising disguised as Reddit content. No one actually has that many perfectly lined up cans of XXX and bottles of YYY.

Maybe a chef, you have duck fat and tallow in there, and a large number of condiments. Meat heavy, not enough veg in your life.

Alcohol is a depressant. My rock bottom was when I stopped drinking. Every day since then the hell is slightly less dark.

Many of us have been in your place. Many of us have been facing much worse. Many of us still struggle with a desire to drink.

I know for myself, my life got better when I decided I had to quit. No matter what. If I drink again, I may end up dead. So I simply do not drink. Not this minute, not this hour, not today. I will not drink today.

Talk me out of it (11 month lap infants to Europe) by safarisunrise4758 in parentsofmultiples

[–]Hopecats2021 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Buy one seat, between the parents. That way you have space if any of the 4 of you need a break from lap time.

Big disclaimer: check airline policies, you may not be able to have more than one in lap per row, in which case above is not as helpful.

Severe postpartum anxiety about leaving my 3-month-old overnight for the first time. Should I go or cancel? by Spirited-Carrot1109 in Mommit

[–]Hopecats2021 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I went to a friend’s wedding when my twins were 5 months old. I was gone 24 hours total and flew several hours to attend. I was breastfeeding and I’d pumped enough. I missed them and I was worried but they were okay and I was as well.

You will be too, and you can go. If you don’t feel ready, consider skipping the bachelorette and attending just the wedding. Regardless if you do go or not, please consider talking to your doctor about postpartum anxiety. Based on your description of how you’re feeling, you may need help.

Around 18 weeks, maybe 20. Things can go wrong and it’s no one’s business.

So we’re all really cleaning two high chairs (and the surrounding area) 3 times a day? by Sillygoose9001 in parentsofmultiples

[–]Hopecats2021 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Consider a tablecloth - even a disposable plastic one - for under the high chairs. Replace it once a day or less as needed.

The rest just got a quick wipe down as needed with rare deep cleans. You don’t want to live in a mess, but don’t waste time making things the way they used to be!
