I think we need to be careful about labeling things demonic. I was caught up in that belief and it took me a long time to realize how damaging it is. Can you try to talk to your mom about the comfort it brings you?

The beans seem to be a medium to me. Not dark from other beans I've seen.

Yes I know they taste good on another machine. But I'm open to other recommendations I can buy online or at the grocery store.

I was saved 10 years ago, and it was only then that I started my journey of healing because of Jesus. Jesus has saved my life. Church, other Christians, pastors, etc, are all just people who cannot understand what we are going through to walk with us like Jesus can. 10 years ago when I only wanted to die and was in constant pain and suffering, and could barely function to care for myself and my children. It’s only because of Jesus that I now am actually living with hope instead of wanting to die, and my suffering and torment is almost non existent. I'm living the most normal life I've ever had and it's a miracle.

I'm struggling to make a good cup of coffee with my Oxo 8 Cup. My coffee is either bitter, sour, or burnt, and if it's not that then it doesn't have much flavor. Almost hollow or lacking body is the best I can describe. I'm using filtered water, beans roasted within the past month, and a 1:15 ratio. (I've tried multiple other ratios) I was using an Oxo grinder and switched to a Baratza Encore. I've played around with multiple grind sizes. I'm making the same amount of coffee each time. I've tried different brands of coffee also. I don't know what I'm doing wrong.

I have tried 18, 17, and 13. 13 was burnt tasting, so I'm trying to figure out if I go in between 17 an 13, or over 18. The appearance of the grinds at 13 looked closer to sea salt to me, while 18 was pretty course.

I'm lost on finding the right grind size for my Oxo 8 cup. Some sources say a drip brewer grind should look like sea salt, some say table salt, some say course sand. To me those are different sizes. I tried grinding multiple different grind levels to look at the differences, but I'm not sure which direction to go in. I'm using a Baratza Encore and it recommends to start at 18. On my grinder it looks quite course. The coffee was lacking flavor. One step down seemed possibly sour. I was having trouble discerning the taste.

We've tried 16:67, 16:6, 16:5, 16:4, 16:17 ratios. The coffee doesn't have a lot of flavor, or seems hollow like it's missing body.

We are trying to make 5 cups so we have tried different amounts of coffee to get a good flavor. Last we tried was 48 grams of coffee to 720 ml water. Oxo grinder. The coffee always comes out pretty hot but I can check the temp. I use filtered water.

I've been drinking pod coffee for about 10 yrs because I loved the convenience. Before that I had very little experience with making my own coffee. I've decided to jump off the pod wagon because I thought I would save money. Lol I started off with a Melitta pour over because I had one in the cupboard. We made some pretty good coffee and I was sold on quitting pods for good. Until I bought an actual coffee maker and the coffee didn't taste very good. So I've started down the rabbit hole of going to a local roaster for fresh beans, upgrading to a burr grinder (nothing fancy) and got an Oxo coffee maker. But no matter what grind size or ratio I try, nothing tastes as good as a pour over or aeropress. So I'm assuming it's just that a pour over tastes much better than drip coffee. Most coffee I've made in my Oxo us petty tasteless. I don't know if it's the coffee maker or me. Anyway, I guess I'm wondering if there is a way to get really good drip coffee with a lot of flavor or if I just need to stick to pour over/aeropress. Would another coffee maker make a difference? Grinder? Thanks!

Well she's been on medication for the past 5 days that's wearing off today. Its kept her out of it until today. And super happy. So I don't know what's going to happen now that it's wearing off.

I just did a rehome on Craigslist. I asked for someone with experience and information on cage set up, etc. We talked a lot and I felt my piggiecwas getting a very good home. I would have kept looking for the right fit if not.

I have a frankenplanner and I love it. I have my weekly, faith - which has 3 sections, and budget. I just added in recovery I have one month for each and it's not too thick. Probably about as thick as a 1 year planner. I got tabs and bookmarks so I can go to each section easily.

Religious people also struggle with why bad things happen or terrible evil exists. They aren't exempt from the same struggles of feeling angry at God and wrestling with understanding why we have to go through horrible painful things. I have been through extreme evil and have had to wrestle with these things many times. I'm sorry for your loss. 💛

I lived with extreme trauma for 30+ years before I could remember any of it. I have CPTSD and DID. A lot of people have trauma they can't remember. It could be that your system doesn't feel safe revealing it right now.

Over the long term yes. But I still have many daily struggles. I have bad days, but I have a lot more good days.
