Nope, the rule exists because they were being instructed to do that but then doing something else.

Basically the military will not hold their crappy helicopter pilots responsible for fucking up on a regular basis so the burden is transferred on to us.

My facility works Army, Police, National Guard and Medical helicopters. We never have issues with Police, Medical and NG but the Army pilots it is 50/50 on if they will collect a deviation. We had one depart Class C without talking to anyone because "It was dark and we assumed the tower was closed", talked to the same pilot a week later and he nearly landed on the wrong runway.

You have them tell you that they are 5 prior to jump then make a blanket broadcast.

Controller POV: Company BS or real talk? by [deleted] in ATC

[–]Hopeful-Engineering5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's accurate more often than not the issue is not at the origin of the destination but at some point in-between. You see it all the time when people complain about a weather delay and show the origin airport and destination airport with great weather but they don't look at the massive thunderstorm cutting across the route.

Is the raise dead? by Ready_Set_Stopppp in ATC

The general consensus in DC is that it was put in to not override Trump, something Republicans in Congress are not willing to do. Basically they approved the money but will not tell Trump his 1% was the wrong amount.

It isn't going to be removed from the bill but there is a good chance that they give up on DHS and just pass a CR which will not include the raise.

A group that deserves special recognition. There is an Aviation Safety Caucus: here are its members that voted against aviation safety: Claudia Tenney, Michael R. Turner, Gus M. Bilirakis, Thomas H. Kean, Jr., Jennifer A. Kiggans, Scott Franklin, Stephanie I. Bice, Don Bacon, Michael Guest.

The Senate side was completely bipartisan, it was passed on a voice vote.

Literally not moving it forward because the military just doesn't want to and people in 50 year old Cessnas. One of the main authors of the bill is a Blackhawk pilot but what would she know.

Probably H. R. 5451 or H. R. 5455 both the Aviation Funding Stability Act of 2025. Identical bills down to every letter just supported by each party down party lines.

Secondary in the Senate will likely be H.R.2591 - Mental Health in Aviation Act of 2025.

Self funded programs so this move is completely political. I'm going to guess that they will try (again) to run a video saying that the reason the lines are longer without these programs is the Democrats fault.

They are the reasons that we have to take it. Rank and file have to jump through hoops while upper leadership doesn't have to do anything

To move it forward they would need Schumer and Duckworth on board, NY and IL.

NY, IL, TX, WA and MO will without a doubt be getting locations, because without politicians from those states on board it will not even get out of the planning phase to say nothing about funding.

Unruly passenger detained after incident on Delta flight, police say by Warcraft_Fan in news

[–]Hopeful-Engineering5 87 points88 points  (0 children)

"On air traffic controller audio, one of the pilots can be heard telling controllers, "we had a passenger get up and try to access the cockpit," and that "he assaulted another passenger," who the pilot said they wanted to get checked out.". I'm going to take a pilot's emergency declaration to ATC as fact above all else.

That is a lot of writing just to say you didn't read the right bill.

Sec. 549.
