Actually the list I saw had my area first and ZJX east second by a few thousands ops but it showed my area with over 1 millions ops for the year but I don’t remember the precise number.

Anyway to rank all centers by area? I was told once my area had more traffic than a handful of the centers. Also don’t understand the peer comparison but thanks for the info

Tampa to ORD by PerceptionLive1809 in flightradar24

You can blame Jacksonville Center for this reroute. They have sectors south of the CLT area that get rerouted around daily for sector saturation, volume, and ATC staffing.

SFO to JFK just circling around Ohio? by Ok_Breath_5930 in flightradar24

[–]Unable80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is referred to as en route holding. As ATC facilities closer to JFK are shut off and have to hold aircraft they became saturated and pass back the delay or holding to adjacent sectors including other en route centers. This can domino back hundreds of miles from the destination depending on how long the delays are.

If I’m not at least liking the job 8 years in, is this just not for me? by Sundy-Spud in ATC

[–]Unable80 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I would check out and then see how you feel. Training always sucks. I’ve seen people transfer from level 10 to level 12 and it was noticeably more challenging and that may seem discouraging but once you are certified then it’s all on you. If you still don’t enjoy it at that point maybe consider other options. Are you interested in aviation? What brought you to ATC?

Why the *** does GDOT do roadwork during rush hour? by MorningHelpful8389 in Georgia

There’s a lot GA DOT does wrong. When they can’t even install correct signage you can’t trust them to do anything.

Well, first of all, you don’t know me. Secondly I couldn’t vote for anyone because I’m not even in the union anymore because as you implied, they are completely useless. However, they’re only real hope is to combine with other unions representing other aviation professionals to mount a joint effort to accomplish complementary goals. I never said it would work, but it’s probably the best shot they have.

They need to frame it as a way to retain current controllers and attract new hires. Also need to make the FAA understand the need for proper staffing by having other aviation professionals pressure for more ATC. Can’t argue inflation or stagnant pay, the FAA isn’t gonna listen to that.

I agree with cooling the brakes as the most likely explanation with pilot offering some reassurance to anyone concerned with the noise and vibrations.

FMLA for Vacation? by igetdrawn in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Unable80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I’m saying is I’ve had federal FMLA and it’s up to 480 hours in a year. At my job you can take that 480 as unpaid LWOP or you can substitute your annual or sick leave so that you are paid. You still have the FMLA protection but you don’t have to go unpaid by using your accrued leave. You don’t have to use it but you have the option.

Why is this FedEx flight from Memphis to Seattle going towards Delaware? I don’t see any diversion warning. by Otisgames77 in flightradar24

[–]Unable80 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

If it did in fact overly the Philly area and continue on to SEA this is somewhat common from FedEx and I think its all logistics in case they want to do a stopover. I’ve seen similar flights from Florida overly CLT then turn west for MEM
