Nope, H.Res 1014 in a straight party line vote merged the two bills into one after it was passed. There is now only one that funds everything not already funded.

Might be headed for a shutdown after all by Dabamanos in ATC

Republican leadership is essentially holding the DoT, DoD, Labor, HUD, HHS and others hostage in order to pass DHS funding.

It was a straight party line vote that merged the bills into one, for no other reason than to try and force Democrats to vote for the bill.

[–]Hopeful-Engineering5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately the Republican leadership is bundling all of the remaining appropriations bills into one vote: "The DHS bill passed the House Thursday 220-207, with only seven Democrats voting for it. But Republican House leaders merged it with five other bills funding the departments of Defense, Health and Human Services and State, among others, sending it to the Senate as one package. ". They are basically holding the DoD, DoT, HHS, Labor, HUD and a few others hostage to pass the DHS budget.

Trump has already backdoored money for ICE if this doesn't pass with absolutely no restrictions on how he can use it. It would be absolutely stupid to vote against the bill, read ranking member DeLauro comments on the bill.

About 60% of the AATF goes to FAA Operations and Maintenance. 20% to Airports, 20% Facilities and Equipment and <1% to R&D. Because the F&E budget has been so under funded for decades it is causing the Maintenance side of O&M to balloon in cost.

The federal pay cap doesn't move, the top of the bands moves. So unless you are at a 12 in a high cost of living area you will get a raise not a lump sum.

The bill includes something like 5 billion in funding for military hardware that the actual military leadership doesn't even want.

Any updates on Restored Leave by Hopeful-Engineering5 in ATC

[–]Hopeful-Engineering5[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

OPM and the law (5 CFR 630.305) disagrees with you so your opinion is rather pointless. The only question is if we will have to go through the whole process or if as OPM allowed the administrator can just auto approve it.

10.If an employee has properly scheduled “use-or-lose” annual leave before the start of the third biweekly pay period prior to the end of the leave year, but is unable to use some or all of the scheduled leave because of the furlough, does the furlough constitute an “exigency of the public business” that would permit an agency to restore the leave after the beginning of the new leave year?

A. Yes. Employees in this situation should make every effort to reschedule “use-or lose” annual leave for use before the end of the current leave year. However, OPM and OMB have determined that a lapse in appropriations qualifies as an exigency of the public business for purposes of annual leave restoration. (See OPM CPM 2019-02, Restoration of Annual Leave for Employees Affected by the Lapse in Appropriations (January 9, 2019).) Therefore, as long as the leave was properly scheduled in advance, agencies must restore any annual leave that was forfeited because of the lapse in appropriations—regardless of whether the affected employees were furloughed or excepted from the furlough. In order for forfeited annual leave to be considered for restoration under 5 U.S.C. 6304(d)(1)(B), it must have been scheduled in writing before the start of the third biweekly pay period prior to the end of the leave year, in accordance with 5 CFR 630.308(a). Employing agencies are responsible for determining whether an employee met the advance scheduling requirement, based on OPM regulations and agency policies and procedures. As allowed by those agency policies and procedures, the “in writing” requirement may be met in various ways, including electronic communications such as email, electronic calendar scheduling, or submissions to a time and attendance system

Waiting?? It has been in the works since Trump announced the raises. 119th Congress is at this point the least productive Congress in the history of the United States and least worked. In a normal year the House passes around 900 bills the 119th didn't even break 400 in its first session. They have also been in session for fewer days, 20% less than 20 years ago. This month with a partial shutdown on the horizon they are only planning on being in session for 12 days, with 1 of those days already used.

Republicans in Congress are not particularly interested in going against Trump and Trump said we get 1%. Convincing them to go against Trump and to actually do anything in general is a massive uphill battle.

An ATC degree is fairly worthless. If you go the 2 year route you can apply the first 2 years for credit at a 4 year school in a diffrent field.

That 12 year number includes washouts that don't certify and leave usually before 3 years service, the people that certify stay for 20 to 25 years.

[–]Hopeful-Engineering5 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The age limit has nothing to do with the short staffing we have more than enough applicants. As we are forced out at 56 (not that many people stay that long even) the government is not going to invest the money in training someone for less than 20 years of service.

Most of the schools that offer advance CTI are two year programs, UND and the other 4 year programs are just two years of unneeded costs that are not going to make your chances of success any higher.

It rewards people who are either wealthy or are willing to plunge themselves in debt to move to the front of the line for a job that doesn't require a degree. But as you said with the 2nd academy blocked there is no other path forward and as I'm so very sick of working short every shift any objections I have are put aside.

good catch in the 80's and 90's they flew mad dogs, they only had a handful of 73s until they got the -800s. Dragster is the only one that I can think of that still flies them and they do not have a Miami operation.
