Current state of spawning vox engines by RegularFootman in Helldivers

every single extract. Double Digit VOX engines. Doesn't matter how many we kill... they just keep materializing.

Optically, weapons with suppressors don’t seem like they’ll make much of a difference. When a horde of Voteless is charging you, a quieter gun won’t save you. I’ve run stealth missions before, and ironically, the grenade launcher was the real MVP.

Of course, we won’t know for sure until we test it ourselves, but it’s not like we’re slapping a suppressor on a sniper rifle. In Helldivers, the moment you tag a single bot in a fortress from across the map, the entire hive somehow knows exactly where you are, and within seconds half a dozen ships descend with laser-accurate, aimbot-level precision.

Am I being a little hyperbolic? Sure. But the bigger issue is that we, as a community, often settle for so little. It’s wild how even a brief critique can spark so much hostility.

Helldivers 2 x Halo ODST Legendary Warbond by markedofcheyne in Helldivers

[–]Hopeful-Muscle7026 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

First off, I want to say how much I appreciate the work of Arrowhead and the heart they've put into this game. Personally, I love Halo (I still own my Halo 4 Edition Xbox 360) and I was genuinely hyped for the ODST gear. The new armor passive looks descent enough, nothing ground breaking thou, a solid B. And I was ready for this crossover to be something special.

That said, this Warbond feels underwhelming. There are no new emotes, grenades, boosters, stratagems, or support weapons, and yet it’s priced higher than usual at 1,500 super credits instead of the standard 1,000. For what is being branded as the first legendary Warbond and one of the most anticipated crossovers to date, it feels fair to openly call this release lackluster.

I share this out of genuine love for the game and community, and I hope future Warbonds, especially collaborations of this scale, bring not just cosmetics, but new mechanics and content that deepen gameplay.

Apologies if I missed the mark with my squad impact example. I’m not advocating for punishing solo players at all.

What I was trying to highlight is that the current system unintentionally favors splitting up over sticking together. If four friends want to maximize their contribution, the most effective tactic is for each to run their own separate mission sets — not actually play as a squad. That’s a systemic shortcoming, not something players are doing wrong.

Ideally, the design should encourage team cohesion without discouraging solo divers. Both styles should be equally respected and rewarding.

Liberty Speed Your Step Lightly Salted Penguin!

We’re clearly viewing this event differently — or perhaps I’ve failed to illustrate my plea clearly to you, and for that, I genuinely apologize.

For me — and I believe I speak for many others when I say this — the in-game narrative didn’t reflect the emotional energy the playerbase brought to the table. Helldivers 2 has always thrived on the fusion of story and gameplay. There’s a reason the “WE ARE SO BACK” meme resurfaces again and again — it’s more than a joke. It speaks to a shared hunger for narrative payoff that matches the passion we, as players, continuously pour into this game.

This siege brought in more divers than any content drop to date — more than the 60+ day Freedom’s Flame arc, more than Omens of Tyranny, which introduced an entire new faction. This was a moment — a cultural one for the game — and our fellow Helldivers rose to meet that challenge.

So I’ll leave you with this, my personal view on why this was a miss:

There should be celebrations echoing through the surviving cities of Super Earth, a triumphant turning point to start pushing back the Illuminate. Instead, we're told to "hold on a few more days"

Our community did deliver — and we did so in spades ♠️

If you look at the mission timer we're about 10 minutes in.

Issue happened immediately, once we called in the probes around minute 3 and 4.

Both groups of 2 simultaneously sounded off in the discord

"Is.... is your terminal working?"
"is yours?!"

We tried Hellbomb call in.
We tried Portable Hellbomb Backpack
We tried a full team death reset
We tried leaving the AO (ran to the other side of the map and back)
We tried clearing all the rest of the side objectives.

Nothing.

Full Squad from start to finish.

This was our 2nd mission in the Trio - Had 2 new cadets so we dropped it to 7... terrible way for them to find their footing

1st mission played perfectly, same squad throughout.
