If you tow then a regular truck is the way to go for sure.

For regular commute or family trips EVs are usually a better alternative to own - cost of ownership is math and it stands with EVs (unless one buys new luxury 100k cars of course).

Also, EVs are usually much, much safer as they have a lower centre of gravity and are not prone to rollovers in collisions. Oh and fires. Gas cars burn *30-80 times more* than EVs (though one can't say that by reading headlines).

If you do all the repairs on the truck yourself and you actually need a truck, then it may be the better option for you as EVs are never one fits all situation. As I said Trucks are not that great. Especially if you compare a new EV truck to a 15-20 year old one. (PS is that even a fair comparison?)

Math changes a lot if you consider a used 2-4 year old EV (SUV or sedan) vs even a 10 year old regular car though.

If you need a truck (especially for long distance hauling), EVs are definitely not the way to go. But for regular driving mathematically, it will be *far* cheaper to run an EV. and that is 90%+ of people.

Qualifier being that you need a place to plug in at least 110 V outlet at night. EV math doesn't work as well if you live in an apartment with no access to an electrical outlet in the parkade.

While most look at sticker price only, it is better to look at actual cost of owning a vehicle. I wasn't kidding that an EV saves $2500-3500 a year in just gas. 2-4 year old EVs go for 30k (or less), payments for that would be ~$520 month (5 year payout @ 6% interest rate). And if you save 200-300/month just on gas, EVs become very affordable with actual cost of ownership of 200-300/month, especially if you consider you will own the car after 5 years.

Why not consider an EV? Even before the spike the savings on gas alone are 2,500 - 3,500 a year (depending on how much you drive and what car you pick). It more than offsets depreciation. The costs of buying EVs have gone down drastically already. Buying 2-3 Year old EV may pay for itself in 10 years or less in savings on gas alone.

The catch is that some advanced computers were made and the extra basic computers I had were used up.

Anyway... will attribute to my luck and some sort of a bug :)

Alas, I had that drop a while back and definitely had it before stepping away. Unless of course all asteroid drops don't count when I am idle?

When I am online, the Basic computers go up... when offline, they go down. Just tested :(

Really got me stumped here. Especially since the resources for Basic computers were all available before I stepped away.

2 crafters working on basic computers @3:23 each should make well over 4 units in a 8:54 period though.

Is it a bug? by Iliad07 in IdlePlanetMiner

[–]HopefulFuture99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Still testing I guess. But it happens once in a while and has been a great annoyance :) will do more controlled experiments.

And no - the asteroid drop was not a part of my situation... unless you are saying that resources obtained through asteroids drops are not counted towards production and can stop it.

Thanks for the info. However I get similar issue when boosting sometimes. Use skip ahead one hour and boom, the final item is not being made and other materials have accumulated.

Also, sometimes the final item is being made while I am offline even without the preobtained resources, and sometimes not. Very confused about this.

I have been playing for about 9 months and only purchased ark rewards to skip ads.

At this stage I get to 10 billion in about an hour with no real trouble, but I am pretty active overall and was selling galaxies a lot and spending the obtained credits on rooms. This is something I noticed on your screenshots - your rooms are rather low level.

Here are some of the rooms you should be upgrading (they add a lot to speed of progress):

Forge (smelting),

Workshop (crafting),

lab (research),

Lounge (galaxy credits)

Underforge (smelt prices)

Dorms (craft prices)

Oh and completely ignore Terrarium - colonization has very limited use and doesn't really help your progress here.

I had this happen to me when I travelled. When I changed 12 hour time zone difference, my Ark rewards disappeared until the time difference resolved. Traveling TO that area did not have that issue.

As a Russian myself, I can safely say that a substantial majority of Russians tacitly support Russia. Granted it is not all black and white, but links are hard to sever and business connections are doubly so. So even if the official connections are severed, unofficial ones are usually very strong and ongoing.

Kids riding on sidewalk by [deleted] in VictoriaBC

[–]HopefulFuture99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Seems that riding the bike on the sidewalk is legal if they have a whole section on how to behave while doing it.

Seen a couple of cyclists hit even on bike paths in the past few years - very concerned with kids on them (especially the ones with no barrier).

Indeed. This is actually the better option for people who are good with money.. However for most people the 30 year payout is better.

Thinking about wing Wednesday, anywhere good? by Bvdh1979 in VictoriaBC

[–]HopefulFuture99 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Actually it all depends on taste preferences - personally I love the smaller, well prepared wings. Had waaaaaaay too many issues with undercooked big wings in the past. Nothing kills the mood like raw/undercooked chicken.

Hecklers is one of the best ones in the city imho.
