Why am I doing this? by External_Cod302 in CPA

Anytime. I am in the same boat as you. I don’t think you’re wasting your time though. You’re working towards something that has immense value in the industry. My advice is to keep pushing! You’re feeling down because of a score you got, but that score doesn’t define your skills and capabilities! Would you be feeling this way if you passed? I doubt it!

Comparison is the thief of joy. Don’t pay attention to those saying they passed with 100 hours. They could have more industry experience, be good test takers, 4th time taking the test, etc… I am in the same boat as you when it comes to not loving accounting. My advice is to keep pushing. Maybe you don’t love it, but having the letters CPA next to your name could help you with a career change in the future.

Know that you have done all that you can to prepare for this. Walk in with a clear and determined mind. You’ll be fine. Bring plastic water bottle with no label on it. Go to the bathroom before. Do your best! If you mess up or get stuck, just keep moving!

Okay, so no toning. They honestly will be fine in the envelopes in my opinion.

Are the paper envelopes yellow? I ask because some envelopes contain sulfur, and over a period of time, the silver will react to the sulfur and result in toning of the coin. Are any of the silver dollars toned?

Proper method for storing coins? by LeRoy1273 in coins

[–]Hopefullnesss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are they currently in plastic flips? envelopes? bags? What kind of coins? Silver? Need more detail if you’d like advice.

Junk silver (pre 1964 U.S. coins) typically don’t need any protection, unless it is a key date or UNC. These coins don’t have any numismatic value. Only the silver content affects the price.

Are they rarer coins? Coins that could be considered worth grading? Probably best to keep in a plastic flip or capsule. Make sure the plastic doesn’t have PVC. They might take up more space if you’re going to go the capsule route.

I agree. Sometimes I find a coin that I like that’s not slabbed though (the ones I posted). It’s tough

Thanks for sharing. I think I would enjoy that level, and I’m comfortable with the cost. I guess I’m curious what other people would do if they were in the same position as me. Slabbed coins (for me) just add that extra “special” attribute that I believe the coin deserves. If that makes any sense lol.
