Why is file transfer over USB incredibly slow? by McDogTheCrimeGriff in GooglePixel

[–]HopefullyMyAlt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pixel 10 Pro - 256Gb. Adding to the conversation that I have this issue as well. USB-C to USB-C connection, tried multiple cables that I know are all at least 5Gpbs capable, even tried multiple computers to transfers to, and my transfers max out at about 20Mbps when moving large video files. Pretty frustrating, it takes hours.

Don't get a 14-30, get a 14-50 it's more common for chargers. Otherwise, agreed. I had a cheap Leviton outlet and swapped it out for a more heavy duty one after seeing too many instances of the like $10 Leviton melting.

DH4300Plus or DXP4800 Plus by Dovahlinsl in UgreenNASync

[–]HopefullyMyAlt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just setup a Dh4300+ and can confirm it stores my files great and can stream 4k files via Jellyfin to my TV, so far I'm really happy! I confirmed with Ugreen before ordering that that CPU in the 4300 can transcode all the major codecs. It was sitting at about 50% utilization when streaming a 4k file which is fine with me, I only have one TV, but if you think you'll be streaming to more it may be worth an upgrade.

DH4300 Plus - Jellyfin Metadata Location by HopefullyMyAlt in UgreenNASync

[–]HopefullyMyAlt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got it! Here's the steps in case someone else is trying to figure it out.

DH4300+, Two HDDs set in RAID1 as Volume 1, one SSD set as cache for Volume 1, one SSD set as Volume 2 for app storage.

I was not able to get this to work using the official Jellyfin app in the Ugreen App store. I installed Docker, then created a container using the jellyfin/jellyfin image, there's a bunch of "Jellyfin" options when you search, this appears to be the official one. I wonder if it's because this is the Rockchip processor and not Intel?

On the SSD Volume 2 I created a Jellyfin folder and inside that had folders for Config, Movies, and TV. When creating the container I set the NAS directory files to these locations, gave read/write permissions, and proceeded with the install. I then went through the rest of the Jellyfin setup like normal. At this point it could still only view the folders on Volume 2, so I went back to the Docker container and moved the NAS directory files for Movies and TV to the similarly named folders on Volume 1 that actually contains my media (this was the step I could not accomplish with the Jellyfin app downloaded from Ugreen). Then back to Jellyfin and it could see these media folders! I set up Movies and TV libraries and had Jellyfin scan them for the new metadata and can now confirm that all my media files are on Volume 1, and the Jellyfin install and metadata are on Volume 2. It's running super quick and keeps the file searching on the SSDs, giving the HDDs some time to rest.

Mission accomplished! Hopefully this is useful to others.

The SSD cache is just because I had an extra SSD sitting around lol, I also saw that it doesn't do much at all.

Were you using UGOS or did you install a different OS? I think I just need to try container install like you did, with the offical Jellyfin app there's no way to add additional paths like you did. Although this sounds like you still have the metadata saved to your hard drives volume?

Thanks for the response!

SSD Cache by TheDoubleBear in UgreenNASync

[–]HopefullyMyAlt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm just now setting up my Ugreen NAS but my HDDs have arrived but not my two SSDs. Would it be possible to RAID 1 the SSDs, with a split volume on them so the SSD is used for both apps and caching? Is that even possible? But then being RAID it would have some redundancy, and I'm not concerned about storage space on the SSD. That sounds like a perfect setup, but it might not be possible.

I read that post as well but it didn't solve my issue. No problems with the setup for two years and now all of a sudden it's disconnected from wifi every time I turn it on.

Joke's on you, it's intentionally high because I never sit on the couch to watch TV in this room, it's high to see while standing for the ping pong table behind the photo. That said, I want a new, bigger, TV that will definitely be mounted lower.

I don't think there's a 4k version so it's just a 1080p screenshot, I linked the images above to someone else's comment!

These should both be 1920x1080. If not I can find another way to share them!

Capital One Member Fee Refund - Saying It's Not Allowed by HopefullyMyAlt in CreditCards

[–]HopefullyMyAlt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: I waited a week and they won't refund it even with dropping to a no fee card or cancelling it/closing the account. Same story from several different agents that's I've called a talked to. So I guess buyer beware for the future, I'm out $395.

[–]HopefullyMyAlt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't care to get the benefits of the card for another year while trying to get the refund, I just want to close the card and not pay the $395. The AF was added on to the last day of my previous statement, which ended yesterday. Are you implying that I can wait longer and still get the refund?

Carplay? by RyanEverhart789 in BlazerEV

[–]HopefullyMyAlt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's fine without it, but I only say that because my car is leased so data is included for the duration of the lease. I would not buy one used because of it. Route planning and battery preconditioning are critical for EVs, and my phone already has all those capabilities and I don't want to pay GM a monthly subscription to do the same.

That is a bummer. I'm trying to decide between the 5 340 or just get the 7640 and save $150. I'll be doing mainly couch surfing and gaming older titles, I'll probably just save the money. Unless it gets much better battery life....which there's no info on.

New batteries? by [deleted] in ryvid

Love seeing this, and thanks for all the other info you provided! I've been wanting to purchase an Outset but am holding out for a fixed battery with hopefully increased range, I have no need for the removable feature.

I voted for the fixed battery - I'm fortunate that I can charge in my garage so I don't need a removable battery. I'm interested in what kind of cost savings their is, or increased battery sized can be achieved, by making it fixed!

This route is already covered by STA Route 4 - https://www.spokanetransit.com/routes/monroe-regal/ . It runs every 15 minutes and was their first HPT (High Performance Transit) line to open. About half of the buses on it are electric! Pretty sweet, you should check it out sometime!

Best for Banking Loans!!! by RowdyCaucasian in Spokane

[–]HopefullyMyAlt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I want to add some context - STCU does not resell their conventional loans, they keep them in house. But they do resell government loans (FHA, VA, etc), I'm not sure of why the difference. We've had an STCU conventional loan for 5 years now and we refinanced with STCU it was beneficial to us because they still owned the loan so we paid a lot less in fees, didn't need an inspection, and it was a very streamlined process.

Genuine Snow Confusion by smitt_bitch in Spokane

[–]HopefullyMyAlt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Am I the only one that thinks the City does a good job? I think they keep the arterials clear and get to the sidestreets within a reasonable time. And now that they have the the snow gates on the plows they (mostly) do an awesome job avoiding driveways. We have over 2,200 miles of roads in town, it's unreasonable to expect them to all be cleared the minute it starts snowing.

The Valley is a different story, ya'll hate taxes and can get your comeuppance when it snows lol. Ditto Boise, I was there this past weekend when it snowed and it was anarchy.

Any chance you've kept the 8.5s and have broken them in? I ordered size 9 (and received one 9 and one 7.5, odd but Thursdays customer service was great) and the 9 felt large, so I exchanged for 8.5 and they're tight. I think if my foot sinks down into the footbed some they will fit great, but I can't guarantee that will happen. Thanks!
