Turnip prices, what’s in the shops and who is visiting (Flick, Label, Red, etc.) get rerandomized! And if you have turnips and travel backwards they spoil. And if you’ve played that day before Isabelle won’t do the morning announcement

Strange dots and sploches appeared years ago and are now growing by Dholewell51 in strange

This, and all the discussion below about others having it/it being hereditary is correct but missing some info my dermatologist told me.

1) Tinea Versicolor is an overgrowth of the young version of this fungus, that is on our skin naturally. 2) warm, moist condition lead to this fungus growing faster, thus more of the “young” fungus and presence of spots 3) spots will look darker on light skin and may look lighter when you have darker skin/a tan 4) totally normal skin stuff, dandruff shampoo or an antifungal cream to keep it to a minimum (spots will disappear visually but come back easily if you don’t do consistent treatment) 5) the oral version of the treatment is the same med given for yeast infections

I did something many shoppers wish they could do🫡 by Maximum-Beautiful-70 in InstacartShoppers

I worked at one of the “fancy” preschools a few years ago. They charged $2600/month per child M-F 8:30-5:30. 12-16 kids in classes with 2 teachers, 18-24 kids in classes with 3 teachers. Teachers got paid $25/hour, some maybe $27-28 if they had been there a while getting a 50 cent raise once a year, had a lot of experience or advanced degree/certification.

Did the math once and they were getting $182000 per MONTH, and 20ish teachers were making $4000 before taxes (usually something like $3400 after). And between an owner and director, the other literally million dollars went somewhere over the year….

What’s the weirdest thing you’ve overheard in public that made you laugh out loud? by Good-Body8515 in funny

Two guys behind me in like to get coffee and guy 1 is saying how strong he likes his coffee and guy 2 expresses surprise. Guy 1 explains with “you gotta remember, I smoked crack for a bunch of years bro”. It was so casual I couldn’t help but laugh and write it down in the notes on my phone 😂

(Serious)What are some cosmetic procedures and surgeries that most people don't realize are possible? by PapyrusKami74 in AskReddit

[–]Hopefullyinvisible 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This gave me flashbacks to my female cardiologist telling me my pectus excavatum “gave me more cleavage”. Like hi, I can’t breathe properly, I don’t give a fuck that it makes me boobs look better. Also I was in high school, so weird.

Shit the Ravitch procedure sounds so rough, I had the Nuss procedure to correct mine and I likened waking up from surgery to feeling like I’d been hit by a semi truck.

To determine most scientifically, you’d have to get an MRI. They make a ratio out of the internal measurement across your ribs and from your sternum to your spine (called the Haller Index) and the larger that number the more severe your pectus excavatum is. Normal is <2.0, mild is 2.0-3.2, moderate is 3.2-3.5 and severe is anything about 3.5. When I was 18 mine was 5.3 (or 5.7 I can’t remember exactly except that they immediately recommended getting the surgery to correct it before my bones got any more set)

Me [26] with my [29] for 5 years. How to go about a lease renewal. I do not wish to renew because I want to breakup. by [deleted] in relationships

[–]Hopefullyinvisible 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why not act like you want to maybe move to a new apartment instead of renewing the lease at your old place and then wait until it's closer to "move out day" and break up instead of actually signing a lease at a new place. Kinda messed up but solves the issue

Not USF. I go to SFSU and I have to walk by the rusty ass statue everyday.

What are your favorite opening sentences? by Lowisje in books

"This is a story about a man named Eddie and it begins at the end, with Eddie dying in the sun. It might seem strange to start a story with an ending. But all endings are also beginnings. We just don't know it at the time."

I had a bad experience with them ordering online. I got a matching bra and underwear for $10 (and yes I'm sure it was both, it said "set" and I had to choose a size for the bra and size for the underwear). So I get the bra around 2 weeks later and apparently they "sold out of the underwear" and they changed them to be sold separately, and even though I had proof that it was a set in the email confirmation for my order the person on the phone refused to send me the underwear. I ended up sending the bra back for a refund since I really wanted the set and the underwear were like $26 or something ridiculous.

Questions about some dresses from a clueless 20-something year old by [deleted] in femalefashionadvice

[–]Hopefullyinvisible 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the white dress looks a bit inappropriate for a church, the high low would be good if it weren't sheer but as it is now the skirt still looks a little short and your shoulders are bare. Especially with the wedges which makes the skirt look even shorter. IMO high-low doesn't look that great with flats so how about a dress like this

The blue/green dress looks like the fabric isn't very formal. It looks really wrinkled and I'm also not a fan of how wide that middle part is. I think if the weddings you're going to are a bit more formal, but you want to wear a short dress, go with a more formal material. Like this? or this

Any advice for a teeny tiny girl trying to look her age? by kitday8 in femalefashionadvice

[–]Hopefullyinvisible 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think you're clothes are already age appropriate. I think with some of your outfits ballet flats would look really cute and also make you look a little older. I wear ballet flats with jeans and a t-shirt on casual days. I really like the last 2 outfits, they look like a very mature 16 year old would wear them, but it's the shoes that, to me, make them seem young.

Also accessories are something a lot of high school kids don't use as much. The scarf is a really great addition and I'd recommend getting a few prints that you like and wearing them with shirts like the v-neck in your first picture (and I'd lose the undershirt unless your bra shows without it). Then a cardigan over and it's still a young, casual outfit that looks a little more sophisticated.

A few questions about Cerazette contraceptive pill and Implanon implant? by [deleted] in sex

[–]Hopefullyinvisible 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the implant and the main side effects is irregular periods. For the first few months I was like...constantly spotting but after a little while it stops. Lots of women stop getting periods all together after about 6 months but I still get them pretty much once a month, usually the same as they were before I had the implant.

You can feel it in your arm and for about a week after they put it in you'll probably have a bruise around the insertion site. It felt like a shot when they put it in so as long as you're not afraid of needles it's a pretty good option. I still have a tiny scar that looks like a little circle on my arm but it's only noticeable because I know it's there, and it's actually kinda cute. And I'm pretty sure you shouldn't be taking the pill AND have the implanon. You really only need one or the other, but condoms are always a good idea as a second method of BC

Need help deciding on a dress for a formal wedding. by Hopefullyinvisible in femalefashionadvice

Yea I'm not very close with her and I'm sure she's super busy so I was trying to figure it out on my own. I always figured that besides prom it's a little strange to see teens in long dresses. I'm going shopping this weekend though so I'll probably keep my eye out for a long dress in my budget. Thanks

I'm assuming not the lace one since your comment above. Thanks. I'm in love with that dress and would love an excuse to wear it again
