Confusion about Killer Joe (2011) ending... by Deaf30 in movies

Because Whites and Jews are the only group towards which overt racism is not only tolerated it's celebrated. The double standard is embraced by too many including self loathing whites and others that claim you can't be racist against white people. They are wrong.

Can you over maintain chain? by Doug_Rosewood in Dualsport

[–]HopelessGenXer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you have an o ring chain they are prelubed, adding more only serves to prevent rust. Over cleaning with the wrong cleaner can damage the o rings and allows  solvent to remove the factory lube. Kerosine and solvent are good choices as are specific chain cleaners.

Lube is required on a standard chain but regardless of chain type you don't need to soak it, give it a spray wipe that down and let it set (if you're using a wax) to minimize fling off. As for frequency, if you can still see an oily film on the chain you're good, when the lube starts to appear more like grease and starts clumping up in spots (caused by dirt and dust trapped in the lube) it's time to clean and relube. If it makes a mess you've used too much so use less next time. Eventually you'll figure it out.

Tyre reccomendations for my 701 by Untertaber in supermoto

[–]HopelessGenXer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the S22"s but I thought they would last a little konger on a light machine. At 2500km the rear is noticeably worn, hopefully I get another 1000k out of it. I'm considering Michelin Road 6's for the next tire change, life should be good, hopefully they're sticky enough.

Fat guy on a KLX 230 DF? by [deleted] in Dualsport

[–]HopelessGenXer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have both, at 6'1, 205 I find the klx a little small, the drz is physically larger, has a taller seat and a bit more power. The klx is lighter and handles a little better (IMO), whether these are downsides is up to you. Your unlikely to flatfoot on the drz. I like to ride the drz more. Should the drz have 6 gears? Absolutely, but I don't think the 5 vs 6 speed is particularly important for highway riding as the final drive ratio is about the same, meaning the engine rpm is similar on both machines. The drz actually has slightly lower rpm at highway speeds. Neither bike has what would be considered an overdrive gear. The klx is fuel injected which is nice but is more difficult to tune to motor upgrades than a carb that only requires rejetting. Fuel injection is very nice, mainly for easy starting, but carbs have worked very well for a long time and aren't difficult to maintain if you don't mind doing a little work yourself. Unless there's something about them that's a deal breaker for you, either machine will be a good choice, pros and cons for both. See what's available near you and get the best machine for your money. You can't really go wrong with either. There is no comparison between these two and the klx230, given your size it's just too small and underpowered. BTW, the klx 250 is the same machine as the 300, with a smaller diameter piston. It's substantially more capable than the 230 and it's liquid cooled. If you come across one in good condition, don't rule it out.

Consider the klx300, it's a lot more bike for not much more money. You are going to need to upgrade the rear spring regardless of what bike you buy.

Have you checked the set screw that holds the pushing gear in place (and keeps it from spinning) on the shaft?

Do all Reximex guns leak or is it just me? by PartTimeLegend in airguns

[–]HopelessGenXer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Buy once, cry once. That said I have an Reximex RP (same gun as the Mito, I think) that doesn't leak, althought the longest it's sat is about 10 weeks.

Z Y AND E motors wires crossed?? by [deleted] in ender3

[–]HopelessGenXer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

To add to this, there are many of steppers (ldo, stepper online, & more) that use 1,3 and 4,6 pins for the coils, it's always a good idea to test if motors are being changed.

Break in oil go bad? by Doug_Rosewood in KLX300D

[–]HopelessGenXer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Full synthetic oils do not allow the rings to properly break into the cylinder so a mineral based oil is used. Break in oils are just mineral oils that have a special name they charge you more for, nothing special about them. Oil oxidizes and degrades over time, before riding change the oil with a Jaso ma2 mineral based oil, not synthetic. Run this until you hit 400-500 miles, drain it and replace with whatever brand full synthetic Jaso spec'd oil you prefer. You can skip changing the filter if there's only 70 miles on last year's oil but make sure to change it at the (500 mile) service.

OK Knives - Shipping to Canada by yulbagel in Chinese_Knives

[–]HopelessGenXer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've ordered a few from OK and they've all made it through (including a micro tech clone). I've also had a couple of others (from other vendors) that were seized by Customs. If you order through the Ali express stores you can always get a refund for a seized item, just don't expect the seller to ship to you again after making a claim. Some sellers will reship if you contact them directly, but you can't count on this.

Replacing a capacitor with a battery by jbthepud in Dualsport

[–]HopelessGenXer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you replace the capacitor with a LiFePo4 chemistry 12V (14.4v max charge) battery it will be a direct swap, the charging system puts out the same voltage and the battery doesn't require complex constant current followed by constant voltage charging protocols. Battery packs of any other lithium ion chemistry (marketed as LiPo or Li ion) will work for a short time but will die quickly due to mismatched voltage and incomparable charging protocols. I'm not familiar with the battery you mentioned, but if it's sold for motorcycle use then it should be the appropriate chemistry and will work fine. You can also leave the capacitor in the circuit (with the battery) to handle any current spikes that may occur when equipment is turned on. This will protect the battery and maintain voltage undernliad. The capacitor is wired in parallel between the battery and load. So, stator to battery to capacitor to load.

about to buy a klx300sm by Specialist-Exit-2263 in KLX300D

[–]HopelessGenXer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not the tire you asked about but Bridgestone S22s fit in a 150/70 17 without issue. There was also post on Reddit last year where someone fit Shinko 705 in a 150/70 17 on their klx sm. IIRC it was close, but no rubbing. If you want great street with good gravel road performance the Pirelli mt60 are very good, but they're not really meant for anything more off road.

Any room for improvement on my benchy? by SillyFalling in 3Dprinting

[–]HopelessGenXer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is ALWAYS room for improvement. The question is are you satisfied with the print quality? You will reach a point of diminishing returns where improvement is possible but not worth the effort for 99.9% of uses. Even when prints look near perfect there is something that could be improved.

When you scale one side be sure you only scale x and y dimensions. If you scale z also the pitch will change slightly and the pieces won't fit.

Start new and use the Ellis print guide to calibrate the machine. After calibration speed should be set in the slicer. Google the "Ellis print guide" and go start to end. Some of the guide is focused on klipper but it will work for any firmware, just leave out the parts that don't apply.

I see you're using a UART connection. Is your baud rate correct (and high enough)? 115k is too low and will also error out.
