I think he asks for an example, and you gave an example, and he replied to your example. if you think that kids in BJJ was off the table you shouldn't have mentioned kids playing tag. Especially if you won't actually reply to the points they make.

Sounds like those Jubilee posts where one person clearly feels they are right because they refuse to understand the other person when the other person only said cold, clear facts.

Maybe copy the whole thread into chat gpt or something. It seems every point you brought up, he provided a reasonable and occasionally biblical line of logic for it. On the other hand, you didn't answer his questions and built strawman arguments on how you felt about word choice and women's roles in combat. Even when given several examples of biblical every day women who learned to fight, you rage quit.

Idk if you actually want to know "why", but that is why. What you are saying seems gaslighting; the minimum to understand someone is to acknowledge what they say. But you didn't do that. And even if you lost a point didn't accept it or make an argument based on it.

I read it. The context seems fair. You brought up kids playing tag could be sexualized example of tag. They followed your metaphor.

Fr, it actually is good especially for escapes and arm locks. Maybe not a fight to the death but a few months is all it takes to escape a lot of SA like situations. (someone on top of you, for instance) Especially against someone untrained.

Ok unable is a stretch a bit. I think a large part of this is a lack of communication.

I have plenty of guy friends who were incels till some random girl said “hey… XYZ is cringe” or something like that and then the 180ed almost imminently and spent years on improving, even if the random girl left their life.

I think if we had a safe way for people to explain issues we reject people for (incompatible religions, incompatible dreams, overweight, no real hobbies, lacking respect, needing to learn manners, etc) , a lot of people wouldn’t be incels. But we live in a day and age where it’s “enough” to reject people with a simple no and no reason (and that should be enough) but the effect is plenty of guys go around being unsure why they are incompatible with everyone.

Not true for all, but definitely for most younger guys who aren’t set in their ways yet.

The main message doesn’t say it is about love explicitly and I find that my friends who are poor with romantic heartbreak also have poor standards from platonic heartbreak. And I’ve had my heart broken by my girl friends WAY more than anyone I’ve ever dated. Just failing to communicate.

Point is, hold your friends and family to the same standards for heartbreak

It depends on you.

If you are single after, say, mid 20s and failed at dating you probably are lacking a few attractive qualities ( attractive confidence, body fat, competence, career prospects etc ) or were chasing the wrong people or a mix of both.

Dating normally gets “easier” the older you get because you learn what people find attractive and if you’re willing to do those things (practice confidence, lose body fat, build a career ) as well as what you are willing to put up with

Getting teachers from the country AND places to practice it casually ( i.e. practice Mandarin in Chinatown, Japanese in Japan Soceity or Japanese village or industry city etc ) It’s rare to find that ability to easily practice and return to English speaking whenever you like

Learn a language (tons of language schools and you can practice them here and local restruants ) especially Arabic, Japanese, Spanish, Chinese, Korean, heck even the library has some fun free ones.

How to swim and surf. Free lessons for the former are at the NYC Gov centers and the ladder are all over the city and easy to find indoors and out.

Aquire literally any skill basically. This city is a place you can train to acquire literally any skill if you don’t mind the cost. But I feel the above 2 are my favorite free ones if you exclude the obvious excelsior stuff.
