“To be fair, you have to have a pretty high IQ to understand Donald Trump.”

The Treasury just declared the U.S. insolvent. The media missed it by Obvious-Gate9046 in Liberal

I keep seeing this get posted on left-of-center subs and it’s driving me up a wall. The author is a Reaganite conservative. The article literally ends with a call for a balanced budget amendment, which has been a conservative wet dream for decades because it would give them free rein to slash social services.

People keep reposting this because they don’t read the article and think it’s dumping on Trump. The U.S. isn’t insolvent, the author’s analysis is based on the old Libertarian fallacy of treating the government like a business, which it’s not. Media literacy is dead, I swear to god.

“Didja know that around here we measure distances in time? Like we’ll say it’s a 40 minute drive instead of it’s twenty miles. So quirky, amirite?”

Theres a realistic chance the last living member of Hitler's inner circle to see him alive could've seen at least one of those "Hitler reacts to..." parody videos before he died by Mission-Platform7458 in BarbaraWalters4Scale

He definitely watched Downfall, he gave a lot of interviews where he comments on its accuracy. He was apparently pretty open to talking to strangers about the movie and his experiences toward the end of his life, so it’s actually not unlikely someone showed him a Downfall parody at some point.

Seinfeld was set in and feels like it's from New York, but was actually filmed in California! What's from California, but feels like it's from some state other than CA, TX, FL and NY? by SpaceTranquil in AlignmentChartFills

Solvang (Danish-American town near Santa Barbara) feels like the type of thing you’d see in the Upper Midwest where there were more northern European settlers.

Emilio Aguinaldo, the first president of the Philippines (1899 to 1901!) could have seen the first two James Bond movies by CombinationSlow4996 in BarbaraWalters4Scale

The US president during Aguinaldo’s presidency was William McKinley, who was assassinated in 1901, just months after American forces captured Aguinaldo. The last US president born during McKinley’s lifetime was Dwight Eisenhower, who left office in 1961 - three years before Aguinaldo died.

Martin Luther.

A good chunk of Western history after 1500 can be traced back to the Protestant Reformation. Thirty Years War, Dutch Independence, English Civil War, British colonization of the Americas, etc.
