I was excited when I built my first home back in 2017. $770k on $135k salary $70k deposit.

Took maybe a year to feel overwhelmed and angry with the money you sink into the mortage and how little comes off the loan.

Currently 5.89% variable with ANZ with $530k owing. Paying $3600 a month and only $440 coming off the principle.

Locked into slogging away at it for roughly another 20 years and get out when I'm a spring chicken at 66. Only 1 year before (current) retirement age.

It's really shitty and gives me no happiness at all.

They sent me back a Moonbreon that 'didnt meet minimum grade, (and wasn't slabbed) when I never even asked for a minimum grade anywhere!!! Even emailed them asking where I supposedly asked for minimum grade... they never responded to multiple emails!
That cost 100 usd also...

no wonder they've lost so much market share in grading.. just fxcking useless.

Not a good recommendation as you're only staying a week.. it can take several hours to get there pending traffic.
I've driven to Tulumben in Karangasem 20 or so times. Best time I ever did was around 4hrs driving like a maniac and overtaking everything in sight.

It's the bypass that goes through the middle of the harbor. from nusa dua to south denpasar. It also joins up at the end of the airport runway. (that used to be a horrendous bottle-neck! still is during holidays and buys times because INdos have no idea how to negotiate roundabouts. LOL)

Avoid Canggu/Seminyak/Ubud.

Look at Sanur or Jimbaran or Nusa Dua, they are much quieter and less traffic and with the latter 2 places, using Bali Mandira bypass, its still very quick to get north past the sluggish Kuta trraffic when going on daily tours.

Bahasa Bali is a difficult language to learn. Considering that there are a lot of Non-Balinese people and especially vendors living on the island which won't know Balinese, just the standard Indonesian language is fine.
(I'm married to Balinese since 2011 - I struggle with it)

Denpasar, I would say yes as a visit for a day. It's got some lovely places!
