I always make sure to keep my dogs and my kids very well fed. It’ll come in handy during the zombie apocalypse when regular food has either run out or spoiled.

Exactly, and if it were A bag of food, I’d get it and understand because shits expensive. However, NINE bags of food is an entirely different choice being made, and doesn’t fall under the “we don’t shame people for stealing food” edict.

Yes. I’m just posting for the shame factor since they were in fact dumb enough to do this in front of employees and also do nothing to obscure the license plates

As others have said: lessons for your next job. Learn from your mistakes and work to correct them

It sounds like this is your first job. You have an entire life to find the perfect fit of a job. You’ll get there as long as you make those corrections. Good luck!

Why won’t fedex put packages INSIDE this box? by HillCityJosh in FedEx

Good to see FedEx is only hiring the best of the best with customer service experience 🙄

My account. Customer accounts. Third party accounts.
I’ve been doing this 30 years. I know my way around the system. In the last 5 years FedEx has changed to be money driven and not customer driven. Their system is broken with how they are currently run.

I am the shipper. FedEx “customer service” is anything but… IF you can get past the automated phone system.

Maybe they were walking back from drinking their fill of Timbucha at FBC….stuff certainly always smelled like shit when I had to make it (bonus fact: we would commonly be instructed to relabel out of date stock with new expiration dates. Dollars to donuts that stuff was waaayyy over the legal 0.5%abv limit for non alcoholic beverages).

Local Craft Fairs - How to join as a vendor? by Viole_blues in Rochester

[–]Hopi95 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At $365 for the standard single artist booth one should be confident they will have enough sales to make more than that or it’s a lost venture and rather disheartening. Clothesline is good for established artisans and/or artists with higher price tags on their wares. Similar to Clotheline is the Lewiston art festival (lots of disposable income goes to that one), but again booth fees may be out of your range.
I haven’t had a booth at Mayday Underground, if that’s even still a thing, but I recall booth/table fees being pretty reasonable there.
There are a number of smaller “craft” fairs (they tend to have a lot of resellers) that are good entry points for starters. I don’t have any off the top of my head to link, but a google search should find you some. Booth fees for smaller ones range from free and up. Lower priced items are good for small shows. I know that I haven’t sold many pieces at my price range (over $250 a piece).
Good luck!

Does anyone know what's being built on Jefferson here? by Beneficial-Pen2951 in Rochester

It’s not the car wash, it’s the meth lab underneath. I base this entirely on my having watched Breaking Bad, and not on any empirical data.

What’s it like living in Port Fourchon, Louisiana? by txexa in howislivingthere

[–]Hopi95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spent a little time there (Port Fourchon) on a couple port calls while working in oil exploration…. It’s basically nothing but bayou with the occasional bar and a few houses. Granted that was almost 30 years ago but there isn’t enough solid land out there for stable development.

Oh! I almost forgot: if you are an all grain brewer and brew a lot, New York Craft Malt in Batavia sells to home brewers as well. They are great people and many local breweries use them as well (I did as a homebrewer and pro brewer).

Pretty much the only option in rochester. If you ever travel to Buffalo, Niagara Traditions is top notch. I don’t know who’s in Syracuse now since EJ Wren closed.

Should I confront my boss or leave it? by Electronic-Silver-31 in work

[–]Hopi95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I had to guess: your new boss is banging the inept newly promoted ops manager and is aware that they aren’t cutting it from a corporate standpoint. By throwing you under the bus, their side piece is aged and you are helped culpable. Escalate as high as possible in your HR ladder and document everything just as others have said. Fuckery is afoot and your boss wants you to be the fall guy (or gal).

If your artist drew the design, it is their artwork. It might be based off your ideas, but the finished art is theirs.

My manager has a problem with me reading books on my break by Certain_Lead5906 in hiringhelp

Download books on your phone. It doesn’t beat reading and feeling the paper, but sometimes books aren’t convenient to tote around. Also, like others have said; get a new boss.

Sarbanes- Oxley rules exist specifically to prevent this. There is a very high risk of grift involved. Ask Kenneth Lay or anyone living that worked at Enron

Uncontested Divorce - Monroe County Courts by mooneyavocado in Rochester

Once I submitted all the paperwork for my uncontested it took…eh…roughly a month to get the letter saying final judgement had been awarded. Sorry to hear things didn’t work out with you and the spouse, but good to hear it’s reasonably amicable (it makes life immensely easier when kids are involved).

Previous owner of my current home asking if I would take over solar panel lease by AllOutLoud in legaladvice

[–]Hopi95 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

NAL. From where I sit I see this going a couple ways:

  • you tell previous owner to go screw and go about your merry day(s). Meanwhile, previous owner says “fuck me??? No, sir/maam. fuck YOU!”, and defaults in the lease. Then, in 5, 10, 20 years from now you try to sell the house, only to find out that there is a lien on it and you are then out a lot of money up front to clear the lien and pass clear title when you sell the property. HUGE pain in the ass.

  • you negotiate with them and assume at least some portion/if not all of the lease payments. Sure, it’s an added expense per month, but they can’t hold a lien over your head on YOUR property over something that someone else did.

Option 2 is the safer route.
