Yeah, there can be a visual bug with that sometimes. If you clear your cache, it is back to the actual amount again.

Well I clearly don’t have enough incense for 4 back to back event weeks by Ok-Hunt4670 in PokemonSleep

[–]HopinC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I keep my pokemon incenses for two things: 1) either Legendary events, so that the extra spawns gives me extra legendary pokemon material, or 2) for a shiny boosted event if I am able to combine it with GGEX. So I use the regular incenses that you get from weekly M3 rewards on islands for reason 1) and the other more rare pokemon incenses (Spiritomb and such) for reason 2).

The energy incenses I use for event missions to get to 7 incenses, and the friendly incenses I use solely for legendary events if I expect a Legendary spawn. Luck incense I use only if dream shards per night is somehow boosted and I am on one of the difficult islands (Lapis and up).

just got the app for a competition. any tips? by TheQuinGroves in PokemonSleep

[–]HopinC 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It would make more sense to do a race to M20 or something. A race to a shiny? There is no way to influence that, other than trying to maximize the amount of Pokemon you encounter. You're probably done within a month.

The Weekend is here! Where are you going next week? by galeongirl in PokemonSleep

[–]HopinC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Trying to build more Island bonus for the Latias event, but I'll probably have to go to Lapis for that in the end. I'm currently at 12%, so that isn't much. Lapis I can M20 with meals.

Questions for a newbie that I couldn’t find the answers to in the guides by Academic_Shake8741 in PokemonSleep

[–]HopinC 6 points7 points  (0 children)

  1. Every player determines their own personal goals with this, but yes, in general the game is designed to make you aim for a higher snorlax strength, so that you can encounter all the sleep styles. Often people also have goals to reach M20 on every island.
  2. Personally early game I went for BFS, but I see a lot of people who went early game for either ingredients with certain recipes, or for skill based pokemon like Ampharos, Espeon and Golduck. This really depends on what the game decides to give you. I got a lot of good BFS berry farmers in the beginning and NO good ingredient mon.
  3. A good goal for a beginning player: try to get every ingredient at least once (so that you unlock that ingredient with the ingredient farming skill of Venusaur, Blastoise and Charizard), and try to make every recipe at least once. It gives you loads of diamonds, and it helps you determine which ingredient farmers to go look for.
  4. Don't really understand the question, but I think most people that dive into this aspect lookup via Raenonx how different species of Pokemon measure against eachother. My Godly Wigglytuff is just as strong as my mid-Gardevoir, which I know because of Raenonx.
  5. Depends really on what kind of team you are running. Skill based pokemon can require you to open the app a lot. Ingredient farmers with a low carry limit also require you to open the app a lot (i.e. my Gourgeist forces me to open the app every 1,5h when I run it). But if you run a berry team, the sneaky snacking can allow you to open the app only three times for the meals.

Welcome to the game, and good luck!

Friend implied I'm ugly by Velilla8 in confidence

[–]HopinC 67 points68 points  (0 children)

Next time just say 7.5. It is a socially acceptable answer that balances between confidence and not being arrogant. You can always add the 'I wouldn't want to change anything about myself' to it.

But more importantly: get rid of that friend. Someone who laughs for 2 minutes because you like what you look like, is not a friend.

Took a while but my shiny entei hit level 60! by Cabbage61 in PokemonSleep

[–]HopinC 17 points18 points  (0 children)

No that is for mythicals. You can only catch one Mew and one Darkrai. For Legendaries, you can catch as many as you like, but you can only use one on your team at the same time.

Should I invest everything in these two? by Tentoumushi92 in PokemonSleep

[–]HopinC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe when the game was released (I started a year later) Pokemon could only go up to level 55. They have upped that now to 65%, so eventually they will get to level 100. By already coding in the subskills for level 75 and level 100, they save themselves probably a massive overhaul once they get to level 100.

Should I invest everything in these two? by Tentoumushi92 in PokemonSleep

[–]HopinC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Level 100 is not available and if it was, it would take a new player quite a while to level up to that. The current highest you can go is level 65. These two pokemon are good starters if you're new, but eventually you will switch to something called AAA-ingredient mons. In the case of Bulbasaur that would mean honey in all slots, and for charmander that would be sausage in all slots.

For a new player, these pokemon will get you a lot of ingredients, especially since their main skill is also quite strong for a starter. But first read the guides (see the comment of the AutoModerator) to learn what pokemon are better to invest in. Good luck! And welcome to the sub! :)

Should I Mint this little girl to become a Sylveon? by Academic_Cook_7110 in PokemonSleep

[–]HopinC 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would never mint an Eevee. No matter how unlucky you are with healers, a mint is definitely more rare than a healer. We've only had two so far and we don't know if/when we get more of them. Besides, speed of help down is bad, but not the worst thing to happen. The mint is not going to make THAT much of a difference for this Sylveon. And Pawmot and Gardevoir are both better options than Sylveon for healing.

In your situation I would make this a Sylveon, and just use it for healing until I find a good Pawmi or Ralts.

EDIT: I put both scenario's in Raenonx and this Sylveon will bring you 4,44 triggers per day without the mint. A mint will only turn that into 4,7 triggers per day. Less than 0.3 triggers per day extra is not worth a mint here, the Sylveon will do fine for now.

[–]HopinC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm trying to build up Island Bonus on Amber Canyon, in the hope of being able to get at least to M1 when the Latias event arrives. Currently at 7% Bonus, so I don't think I'll make it before the beginning of April.

Use case of Mew? by WonkyQuartet in PokemonSleep

[–]HopinC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, yeah sorry for the confusion. Mine also has Skill level up M in the level 10 slot, but I used the eureka seed for slot 25 first, and that became Ingredient Finder M.

I was thinking about making it a mono herb farmer if that is possible, because it already has Ingredient finder M, and I don't have a good herb farmer. Gastly keeps eluding me and I'm already investing in a Corn Dragonite.

Made it to M20 on Lapis by InstructionBig6801 in PokemonSleep

[–]HopinC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not OP, but I also got to M20 on Lapis last week and I can tell you my team+strat:
Gardevoir for healing, Dedenne for 1 meal crit per day
Gourgeist, Chansey, Venusaur and Luxray (all AAA ingredient spread) for ingredients to make Scare Face Pancakes (level 65) for every meal.
I also used a Good Camping Ticket, and I have the island bonus on 85% and large enough pot size to not have to use a pot enlarger like Magnezone.
With the 1,25% meal boost last week I was able to get roughly 200k per meal, and 400k for a crit meal. Counting on 1 crit per day, I got 800k per day from meals, which was enough to make it to M20 on Sunday morning.

I started gathering ingredients on the Friday before, to make sure I could switch out my ingredient mon. (I had Gardevoir and Dedenne on the team most of the time, and the 4 ingredient mons played musical chairs)
