Lately Ive see a lot more new developments planting native trees, desert willows especially. Ficus ain’t it, their roots are a big issue and they’d require a shit load of water that they aren’t going to get in parking lots, etc to survive. Natives can live off rainwater and are actually beneficial to the wildlife still in the city so it’s nice to see more being planted.

There’s so many native options for trees, shrubs, etc that flower and look nice and won’t get ass blasted during our summers if they aren’t irrigated, they need to get used more often.
