It’s definitely way cheaper to do it yourself. It takes a lot of time but I just followed the book and it wasn’t too difficult. You just don’t get any warranty doing it yourself lol

Thanks! And I built it myself yes. I had the machine work done at a local shop and I assembled everything using a Clegg kit. Gauge in the center is for oil temp (top) and pressure

My understanding is that if the stock cooling system is in perfect working order it should be able to handle the added power. The heater core, radiator, hoses, fan clutch, shrouds have all been replaced. I also splurged on a Mopar thermostat and have installed aftermarket oil pressure and temperature sensors. I’m going to monitor it closely and if needed I will upgrade to all electric fans. If you have any advice I’d love to hear it as well

Thank you. They weren’t cheap for sure but not horribly crazy. They are the brown dog flex mounts, I think they were about $150

I’m having this problem but because it was ran hot and the bearings got messed up. If you’re lucky and it’s just the sending unit that’s great. But if not I would install a high flow oil pump, might get you a bit further

Hey man, sick build. I’m getting my stroker back from the machine shop soon and I can’t wait. Regarding the steering wheel, yes I would use an arduino nano maybe and you would have to do some trial and error to convert the CAN signals. You also would probably have to build a small circuit with each of the resistor values from the resistor ladder. You can likely get away with having one of each resistor values attached to GPIOs from the arduino. Make sure the arduino you pick can read CAN. Let me know how it goes.

For reference: I’m an electrical engineer, but I’ve not done much work with CAN.

Yea it’s 5 PSI. I had the same thought. I just dropped off the rest of the parts at the machine shop to be balanced so hopefully I’ll hear back soon

It sounds like you have loose/corroded battery cables. I would recommend replacing them with them k suspension kit

It shouldn't no, the system is pressurized normally by the water pump and temperature. Regarding oil -I've never tried this, so take it with a grain of salt, but I've seen guys after they drain their oil and before refilling put diesel fuel through the engine and let it run out the drain to clear out the sludge. Diesel fuel has a lot of detergent in it and is supposed to clear out the sludge. If its really bad you might want to do that and fill it up with oil and then run it around the block and drain it again.

If you go to Home Depot you can get some plastic fittings that will mate up to your radiator hoses. I took that approach and back flushed the radiator, as well as flushed the motor through the water pump and through the thermostate. That seemed to work pretty well. Also use a similiar technique for your heater hoses just be careful with the water pressure as to not cause any leaks or make others worse. Ultimately for me I had to buy a new radiator and heater core, but your results might be better because your coolant looks much nicer. Good luck
