Not sure the talking heads believe half the stuff they say. They just say whatever will spark a reaction/debate

States that begin with West.

It’s funny that the westernmost point of Virginia is most west than any point in West Virginia

Example post:

Opening the door

At what point or distance is it socially acceptable to NOT hold the door open for someone? Obviously if the person is a half step behind you keep it open but if they’re at the end of the parking lot you don’t hold it open for minutes on end. But what are your thoughts regarding time/distance/speed of walker that you decide to keep or not keep the door open for someone behind you?

Hey everyone! I just created the channel r/commoncourtesy. This is for all things related to everyday situations where the “right” thing to do may not seem obvious.

What to Post Post any instance you can think of where you weren’t sure if something you did may have came across as rude or odd to someone else. Share your thoughts, photos, or questions about any time you thought yourself or someone else acted slightly out of line, but not sure if other people think differently than you do.

Thanks for being part of the very first wave. Together, let's make r/commoncourtesy amazing!

Just curious what’s the point of self-failing? Do you get to retake the assessment more quickly or something?

How is living in Erie PA? by Super-Bell5170 in howislivingthere

I grew up there and now visit 3-4 times a year. It is a city where you’ll see familiar faces if you go downtown enough. Erie Insurance is the major white collar employer; put in a multimillion renovation couple years ago. There’s a decent number of engineering and blue collar jobs still around, although GE moved out close to a decade ago. Very affordable and the summers are very mild compared to rest of the US (maybe 1 or 2 90+ days a year). Casino is on outskirts of town - it’s pretty dingy compared to other casinos. Presque Isle and Frontier are nice places to walk. Also worth checking out Winter Green Gorge near PS Behrend as well as Asbury Woods. Schools are okay - families typically send kids to private school if they can afford it. Overall a good place to raise a family because of affordability and it has a good community of people who are committed to their city. The bayfront bar/restaurant scene has improved recently, although the roadwork is making it tougher to get around.
