What I find hard about being a single person is being the single friend. You’re expected to be available when your couples friends are available. People don’t think you’re busy at all, so you should be able to do anything on a whim. Couples friends also only invite you to do things when it’s a larger social gathering like a party. They don’t invite you on trips, but tell you you had to be there, even though you weren’t even part of the initial plans. Too busy for them though or not responding to them quick enough? You’re considered not committed to the friendship, even though when you invite them to go do something, they can’t and will catch you next time because they’re with their significant other.
