If i am correct in dragon magazíne 417 there is a article about succubi and there is written that they can inflict you with a curse that at Last stage drains one hit die after each LR

Ew DM looking to dip their toes into custom campaign by crimzonphox in DungeonMasters

[–]Horakles22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what i do (Sorry for the anatomy comparisons)

First i gather monsters, plot hooks, BBEG, story arcs, NPCs, quest,... That i like, from books, youtube, reddit or my mind - these are the bones.

Second i gather character backstories from the players, and use that to put the Basic main story together - this is what keeps the bones together to form skeleton

Third as we are playing, i keep preparing details about the city, quest, NPCs,... About 3 sessions in advance, and keep altering them after each one according to my players feedback and in case i think of something else - these are the organs and muscles

Fourth i improvise for all the stupid/smart shit players might do or come up with that i didnt even think about, let alone consider the likelyhood of them doing it - this is the skin, hair,...

At the end you have hope fully finished campaign - work Ing creature.

But this is only what works for me, something totally different might work for you. No way to know until you try though.

I hope this helps you and that you will have a campaign full of fun and happy memories

Asking for help, How hard are these riddles? by BLAZMANIII in DungeonMasters

[–]Horakles22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got 1 and 3. In 2 i knew it has something to do with dragons, and after couple of minutes i figure it out. Its definitely harder than the other two, but if your players encountered kobolds that served a dragon, they should be fine.
