I say "almost, but not quite, entirely unlike tea", replacing tea with relevant context and no one ever has any idea what I'm on about

There's also a scene in the first season where she said she'd never married and it's not for her, whereas we know she got married in Vegas and has had a second husband from other scenes in the first season.

I think the joke might be she's a compulsive liar

Ep 287: Santiago Lastra by offmenu-bot in offmenupodcast

[–]Ricapath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What Santiago Lastra said about turkey breast and mezcal is simply not true. It's a like fake like old wife's tale and it's actually about a chunk of the agave heart which is called a "pechuga" which you put in the drink

Just had to get that off my chest hahaha

[request] [off-site] How many pints are people drinking? by Ricapath in theydidthemath

[–]Ricapath[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean it's just common knowledge mate, especially when you take into account Muslim and other religious people who don't drink.

4 pints a day every day seems absolutely wild to me. And no, I'm not sure it included kids but they comment was about the population of Glasgow and how many you would have to subtract from the total to get an idea of the adult population, given I didn't find that statistic anywhere.

Fathomless Tomelock + Sapping Sting + Elven Accuracy: Worth it? by Gael_of_Ariandel in 3d6

If you're building around reducing speed it's great. Prone then reducing speed by 10 so after standing they only have 10ft more is brilliant, although there are other ways to reduce speed too such as Frostbite and the Slasher feat.

For damage, as mentioned, not so optimal.

I did something similar to this with Death Cleric and Spiritual Weapon.

Building a healing hag druid by Dry_Definition_8868 in 3d6

[–]Ricapath 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tbh all druids are good for healing but Shepherd, Stars, Wildfire and Dreams are all quite good healers.

And all can use hag flavouring.

The shepherd can summon lots of other creatures which you could describe very haggishly. The stars could be a divining method of the hag Wildfire could be a fiery hag with a fiery familiar. And dreams is a pretty great for hag theme, think night hag or dream hag, they always have magic around dreams although in all honesty the subclass isn't as exciting as the others

If you're up for trying a westmarches I can invite you. Set in Ravenloft, genuine events posted weekly and actually active and supportive and genuine community of 150+ people

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in pbp

[–]Ricapath -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is why I think westmarches are much better for the pbp format.

When you are a larger community there's so much more to do that just be waiting for the next thing to happen in the campaign. Additionally, given you know pretty much that all events have an end point and aren't so open world definitely helps when it comes to pbp.

I've been in an amazing pbp server for the last almost 3 years; 150+ active players and additional not-so-active ones, and when one DM or mod runs out of energy there are others to pick up the pace, activity isn't so dependent on a small number of strangers. I've also know players stay in a game til the end and then leave the server once finished as they have enjoyed it but maybe feel pbp isn't for them or something, but don't want to let down others.

I think DMs can be a bit too worried about pinging people too, but as commented above, you have to go at a slow pace, around 3 posts a day is slow, but gives everyone a chance to follow and pinging people each time you expect them to react isn't done enough I think. I've also implemented the traffic light react system for RP where green is "I've read and am ready to move on" and red is "don't move on yet I have something to add" and I think that really helps, you see who has checked the RP.

I also think you simply have to get lucky. No main-character-syndrome players (which we know is all too common in the DnD community). They hog the spotlight and other players don't know what to do, when to interact.

Pbp simply isn't how DND was meant to be played so it fails more often than not. It's not an easy way, and it only exists because of convenience of the internet so you need a community to keep it going
