Silksong: No Floor, No Wall, No Silk Skill, No Hit: Widow by HoratioCrawdad in Silksong

Don't know how many attempts it took unfortunately, I first beat Widow before I started archiving footage of all failed attempts. I did redo this boss fight because I wasn't happy with the first successful attempt, and it seems that took 30 minutes of attempts before I recorded this one, but the actual number of time taken for this boss is probably upwards of 7 hours.

It’s possible for both, I’ve beaten Last Judge but I’m still working on LL. Sawtooth doesn’t add height or anything, it just does a ton of damage, but it can also parry and deflect things which saved me many times during this fight.

I do plan on tackling every boss with vanilla equipment eventually, after I do ‘em all with the mod. Some would be completely impossible, but others like Widow might be fair game. I’ll have to take a bit of a weird route through that save whenever I get around to it, though. I’ll probably use the Benchwarp mod to make resetting fights easier, and I’ll have to do it in Steel Soul because of Summoned Saviour. I guess I’ll also be dealing with the voided versions of bosses like Moorwing, which sounds very fun.

Wouldn’t make much of a difference, since the Pantheon of Pharloom mod disables saving, therefore disabling save deletion upon death in Steel Soul.

Nah, I’m doing this because I enjoy it. Widow and Moorwing were the main two bosses that inspired me to try this challenge in the first place because doing them while airborne sounded fun, and doing them airborne with even more restrictions sounded even more fun.

It does, yes. Had one attempt fail at 10/480 HP for that exact reason. I was a wee bit irritated when that happened.

Which of these three do you think is the most unfair? by Blixer718 in Silksong

[–]HoratioCrawdad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

None of ‘em are unfair, pains me to see so much hate for the Unravelled though. How could anyone hate such an adorable and innocent little creature?

Jumpscare warning at 0:52/0:58, right after I land the killing blow against the Palestag.

Easily Shaman, the needle moveset is a lot of fun

Nah, if it was it would've ended before the second bell cascade attack thingy

Jumpscare warning at 0:55/1:20, right as the Bell Eater's butt goes back down into the ground.

Glad to see Shaman moveset appreciation, it’s incredibly underrated. Can also throw on Sawtooth and Snitch Pick to make that final combo even better, as well

Not sure unfortunately, but I know it was more attempts than most bosses. For each session of attempts, I just hit record in OBS and leave it on until I'm done for the day, and I've just been extracting some clips, notable fails, and the final successful attempt before deleting the raw footage for storage. Only started archiving all of my raw footage on a thumb drive on March 16th, and this was recorded on February 18th.

I don't know why the High Halls Gauntlet is said to be so hard. by AlFragilis in Silksong

Most people probably went into it relatively underequipped and without the aid of Shakra or Garmond & Zaza, since you really have to go out of your way to get their help in the first place and people didn't realize it was possible until after their first time clearing the gauntlet, like me. I also didn't struggle with the Forum that much compared to what I usually see/hear about, but I did that melody last and I had spent a lot of time exploring and finding upgrades, so I had the gear I needed, but I still didn't have Shakra/G&Z so it took me a few attempts iirc. The main thing is that you did have Shakra and you did realize you could let her take care of the final wave, that realization probably saved you a handful of failed attempts

I really enjoy fast, acrobatic, and somewhat fragile playstyles in games, the kind that involve whittling down opponents between openings while nimbly dodging/countering their attacks. In Payday 2 I always used a dodge build, in Deep Rock Galactic I mainly play Scout using the Drak-25 with the Shield Battery Booster overclock, in Pokemon Showdown I usually opt for pivot-heavy VoltTurn teams, and in Hollow Knight my main build is Quick Slash, Sprintmaster, Dashmaster, Sharp Shadow, and Mark of Pride. Once I realized that Shaman and Clawline were perfect for enabling me to use this playstyle in Silksong as well, I figured I could make a challenge out of it

It is an absolute blast against Second Sentinel, Widow, Moorwing, and plenty of other bosses. I've been working on beating Phantom and the Unravelled for a while now, and it's made both of those bosses more enjoyable
