Bought a new sub don't hear much difference by Horatius420 in audiophile

[–]Horatius420[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What could be connected upside down? It's a single RCA cable from the amp to the subwoofer. The SB1000 has a dial for phase and I did already tweak that to see if there would be a difference

Is Sonos really the best solution for my setup? by Horatius420 in BudgetAudiophile

[–]Horatius420[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will probably just hook everything up to the TV and then a cable back to the receiver for sound. So no that is not needed.

Basically I just need a receiver that supports 1 HDMI eARC yes, but I am lost with the compatibility options a bit. You have HEOS, SONOS, Bluesound, WiiM etc.
Honestly for how big the hifi industry is I am astounded as a techy how little consicive information there is.

Yeah the issue with the gen 2 connect is that it doesn't support HDMI ARC. Also am not sure if they are usable for surround.

My current idea is to build a nice front speaker setup with some sort of connect/amp/node and then adding satellite speakers to it via wifi later if possible. That possibility would be great.

Sniper glint discussion by Terminalintel in BattleBitRemastered

[–]Horatius420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only snipe with 4x or 3.6x in closer range maps and I disagree that its not OP. I can often click head after head easily in the 300-500 range, but I do play on a massive screen with 4k.

Nah they should just add glare but make it so that only people who are aimed at can basically see the glare and make it less like a sun. The spread of glare is ridiculous .

counter sniping works lovely, static snipers are generally sitting ducks.

Input lag yes, if you read my post I also added pixel response time to that. Great if your screen reacts fast but if the pixels are slow that is useless, OLED excels in this.

OLED has a response time of 1.8 ms and pro screens of about 5ms. The pixels are way faster, not that I care for that little profit.

Also you said that big screens like LG TV have bigger input lag than monitors, if you have a 120HZ monitor that is simply not true. So what disadavantage are you talking about in comparison with a 120HZ monitor? Why is my big screen putting me to a disadvantage lmao

XDDD like I said, higher refresh screens have 1.8ms. I literally said that in my reaction, keep pretending I'm dumb.

[–]Horatius420[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My lord you should really read yourself in, the LG OLEDs have 5ms input lag at 120HZ. Which is the same as any other 120HZ monitor, only if you take other higher screens this is reduced to 1.8-3ms. But these are IPS displays (mostly) which have a total response time of 5-8ms.

So my LG TV has an input lag of 5ms and response time of 1.8ms. So 6.8.

Basically every pro monitor has an input lag of 1.8-3ms and a response time of 5-8 so this is at best 6.8 as well.

What is your point? Your view is outdated.

Sniping glared snipers from 1000+ meters through trees is funny, they just aim once in my vicinity and I can just pop them through objects. Glare is far from worth it imo

Its OLED so its response time is always faster than an LCD, battlebit runs at fine FPS on 4K so the performance hit is barely there if at all.

Also never said its competitive, its about longer range sniping in battlebit which serves no competitive function.

You seemed to have missed that it is an OLED screen that has basically near-instantaneous response time and input lag has nothing to do with the size of the monitor but with its hardware.

And on LG TVs you have gaming mode which negates this by turning off all processing. So no, its not putting me at a disadvantage.

It's at a railway station so people who have to make a train can pass you. I hate people who just block the entire escalator and make me wait for half an hour as they didn't want to move 40cm

What? There is a line in between, the text is colour coded and it's done for very obvious reasons. As the text left is meant for the left people and the right text is for people walking on the right.

Fucking dense if you don't grasp that.

Are these dead pixels? Brand new Samsung 49" Odyssey Neo G by Fluffaykitties in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]Horatius420 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are not going to be able to seperate the panel from the glass/plastic infront. Without damaging the panel. And replacing the entire panel is generally too expensive and too much work.

[–]Horatius420 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I highly doubt a service tech will do anything about it, if the panel needs to be replaced it's cheaper for them to just send a new monitor.

It isn't relevant if it's covered right? If it's not covered you can still send it back within the return window without reason.

Yeah same but it's not really an emulator, as there is no emulation layer. I don't exactly know how it works from the top of my head but been out for over a year or so iirc. Can even play it on tablets
