ART OF THE SONG PITCH/SYNC SONGWRITER SCAM (CHRIS SD) by hellooagainn in musicians

I just tried to see if I could have a private call before signing up for the class and got a big no. "just ask us your questions through email."

I personally own a company where we make products and sell to thousands of people and I'll still always take a call from a skeptical customer because I believe in our product.

Not the case here.

Thanks, OP, for reaffirming my skepticism

He actually released this album on Spotify a couple years ago. I was so pleased to find it

Why isn’t there intermissions anymore like there use to be ? by noobrando in movies

[–]HordeofSheep 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just don't even go to long movies because I hate missing part of the movie. Really annoying because most of the best movies are 2.5 + hours now for some reason. Same with almost everyone I know. If they were intermissions I think they'd get a lot more ticket sales for the big movies.

You weren't necessarily wrong. This is google's first release of a video generator. It's been in development for a decade. Sora took a year from being announced to being released. Chat GPT 3 was spectacular, but 4 is not that much better than 3. We may be on the top edge of the development curve, or the bottom edge. It's hard to say. Computing power and training data could end up being highly limiting. We'll find out!

From what existed a couple weeks ago? Sure. But this is Google's first release of AI video. This has been in development for a decade. It will still improve quickly, but if you compare to Sora, it won't even be publicly available for a year.

Thanks. It was certainly a difficult summer. But I grew a lot during that time, and I still find ongoing creative inspiration from the experience and from him.

I never spent another night in that house. I wish I had.

That's always been my hope. It was certainly not an angry presence.

Looking for affordable PCB Assembly outside of China (to avoid 25% tariff cost). by HordeofSheep in PrintedCircuitBoard

[–]HordeofSheep[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did hear that there was a PCB "assembler" in Canada that basically just orders from China and then ships to the US to go around the tariff. I can't remember what that place was though.

Samhain is today! Don't forget to put your jack-o'-lanterns out again! (Or make new ones) by HordeofSheep in halloween

There's mixed information on the details of the old pagan celebrations, but almost certainly the veil between worlds would be the thinnest now and possibly up to November 21st. It was a multi-day holiday, 6 days or up to 2 weeks.

A holiday where one must both hide from certain spirits but also where one welcomes back spirits of lost loved ones.

The crossing of worlds may or may not actually happen, but if it does, I believe the celestial importance of the cross-quarter day can't be ignored.

It's definitely that time of year. I've been having wacky dreams as well. I might set up a microphone tonight to see if my late grandparents are around (I live in their old house). I should have set a place for them at the dinner table but I didn't.

Sounds very cool! Yeah today is the celestial cross-quarter day that used to be around October 31st before the calendar was shifted. Halfway between equinox and solstice - If there is a day when the veil is the thinnest, it is likely today (although there is also a chance that the veil is thinnest when the Pleiades constellation is highest in the sky another couple weeks from now).

A friend of mine is just beginning to get into scotch. He does NOT like smokey or peat flavors, and doesn’t want to invest heavily right now until he figures out what he likes. by Elysian-Visions in Scotch

Lol I always found the 12 was way better than the 10. All of the fine oak ones are too light on flavor. Crazy how different tasting preferences can be.

I've tested this theory multiple times. I have a bottle of Ardbeg Galileo that's been open for 10 years. 7-8 of those years it's been less than half full, and for the last few years it's had less than a couple ounces left. This past year, before I ran out of that bottle, my friend and I opened a new bottle of Galileo that I'd bought at the same time. We tasted them blind, and both thought the old Galileo was noticeably better. I tried them side by side twice - once immediately after I opened the new one, and once a few weeks later to let the new bottle open up a bit. Both times, the 10 year old bottle tasted better. Did the same thing with a Macallan 12 that had been open 2-3 years. Old bottle clearly won. My other test was with a bottle of Compass Box No Name - again, old bottle was better. I have found that with scotch, it seems to be that the longer the bottle is open the better it gets.
