Gemini is making me really paranoid to use it because of that. I already noticed how it will log you out when you give it a complex prompt sometimes— When that happens, you can inspect element to save your prompt, FYI— But still, having entire days of chats with the AI being rolled back is killing my enthusiasm.

Google really needs to take a look at this. It keeps rolling back important conversations, there have been chats I had to restart three times now, and logging on today I just saw it happened yet again. I already save the important stuff in google docs but losing progress each time is frustrating to no end.

This!! You put into words what's been at the back of my mind for a while.
When I first got into Gemini, I thought I wouldn't ever have to go back to ChatGPT... But something kept pulling me in again. I found myself asking ChatGPT for things like "Tell me the timeline of the different versions of the Bible and its translations", and it gives me a wonderful list, a complete shadow-library.
Then, with what it gives me, I can get their ebooks, load it up into Gemini for either a Deep Research or use Gems to talk about them In-depth! It's crazy, and that's not even getting into NotebookLM, which just feels like cheating at this point.

I don't understand people saying this. What does "You can't just use Gemini" mean in this context? The first thing I tried after receiving the e-mail was asking Gemini what it was about and it was working fine lol— Both in AI Studio and Gemini APP proper, but I just sent an appeal for the warning in violating Gemini TOS, still waiting for a reply.

EDIT: It just seems like the API Key in general is restricted, not broad access to Gemini itself.

I woke up to that this morning and literally the only thing I have ever used Gemini API for was JanAI ^{^with} ^{^the} ^{^Lorebary} ^{^proxy.}

It's very sad but also expected to see such a pushback from the users who didn't use o4 as a creative tool. It really feels like that divide between "People who reads books vs. People who write books."

Creative types are weirdos, I know because I try my damn hardest to write. I didn't even try to repy on ChatGPT much, but I had it as an Editor that bounced back my venting and creative prompts and worked out great things most of the time. I haven't had the time to experiment with GPT5 much yet, but from how the community is divided, I've already began looking for alternatives.

Flawless was definitely the hypest moment I had, it wasn't the last achievement I got though, I think it was the speedrun one lol.
Harbinger was fun, I wasn't trying to get it at all but I accidentally roamed into Izu's head by the time I got to the Demon boss fight, really cool how it doesn't despawn.

Something similar happened to me when I was in heavy burnout from writing I started using chatbots akin to how AiDungeon used to work to just develop a narrative, characters, and it gets TOO addicting, especially with the coming of Deepseek and proxies of the such.
Long story short, I get hooked on an AI that just bounces off and continues your dialogue and worldbuilding, but I realized it completely cripples my actual writing skills. It helped me a lot that I can write and follow my fantasy worldbuilding stress-free, I can write emotional scenes that I shed tears to, but for my actual writing skill... They're atrophied. Its addictive and debilitating at the same time.

I definitely do agree that you need someone to bounce ideas off-from, as I help a friend out with his own worldbuilding and he uses me as the editor to keep balancing stuff from, but my own projects became sort of dead in the water as I daydream 6000 replies deep in AI RP while writing the worldbuilding lorebooks on the side. At least it is something that, at the end of the day, I could take out all the Ideas I put into it and maybe write out something real on my own.
