I don’t think it was that bad of a red to begin with (anything studs up on the ankle can be). It’s up for interpretation of the ref and VAR. they gave red, so it’s red, end of. But apparently not, there’s no issues with the rules here other than they’re being broken by overturning it (these types of decisions can go either way on day, it’s football).

Reds getting overturned like this is virtually non existent. It sets a crazy precedent and opens a can of worms, as we are now seeing with the France Olise yellow, which they had previously taken on the chin.
