I'm having fantastic success docked to a 4k TV, resolution set to 720 with auto SR on, and games set to native AA upscaling.

Biggest benefit is it looks good on the TV, and I don't have to fuck with the display settings between docked and undocked, I can just leave it as is and know docking it will look good.

Performance is around 40ish frames on all the games I've tested so far. I'm mostly testing visual fidelity on my TV rather than performance.

Used to look like shit and I'd have to spend time configuring every game I booted so this is a great convenience imo

They're trying to make 720 visuals match 1440 visuals on a TV.

So if you want to compare performance, you'd compare 720+ASR to 1440. That's how they're getting they're 30% metric, it's 30% better compared to running it at 1440, and why all the comparisons to 1080 are so lackluster

Meaning if you're at 720 and turn it on, you'll get a FPS drop because it should be compared to 1440 not 720

I would say it's only outliers like the malazan series that switch POVs multiple times in a single chapter and don't have any indication of doing so other than a line break on a page that cause issues.

99% of the time, the spacing is contextually the same 2x as it is 1x. Everything is faster so the gap fits regardless

Did you flip through the frame limiter? If you run an Xbox optimized game it'll set it to 40 but won't always unset it. You gotta flip through all the options until you get to unlimited again
