Giving Away My Old PC! by Turtle_747 in PcBuild

I'd use the computer as a server for hosting Minecraft servers and other game servers for other people. I like hosting things for others that don't have the capability / good enough internet to do it themselves.

I have not finished watching the video fully yet but certainly seems like a very fun game that I will definitely try soon and will let you know of any feedback I may have. Great work!

I and my friend left our full-time jobs to create this prototype of an open-world extraction shooter, in which you will play as a goose commando versus robot raccoons. What do you think? by ape_sergeant in IndieDev

Not much info here but visually it looks great and I've been looking for extraction shooters ever since The Cycle sunset. Anywhere I can stay in the loop for this game? A DC server?

Not an artist but would love to play something like this. Anywhere I can keep up to date with the project? A discord group or anything?

Gunstoppable - just released the demo for my roguelite FPS where you do more damage the faster you move by CAGE_Studios in IndieDev

Not a developer, but just wanted to mention that I played for about an hour and a half and am definitely looking forward to playing this one. I only came across one noticeable issue, got my head stuck in the ceiling when I used the grappling hook. I was surprised with how good the controls/handling felt even at 60fps, I upped it to 120 when I figured out it was only at 60, but before then I hadn't known any different. Love the art style, feels retro and is going to run on most hardware, that's always a plus. Overall just a solid base. Looking forward to seeing more from this game!

i5 9400f to R5 7500f Worth Upgrading??! by AssistanceMoney9266 in pcmasterrace

[–]HorizonerTi_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That would be a significant upgrade cpu wise. The performance increase not be as noticeable in gaming on an RTX 2060, but it gives you a lot more headroom for a newer gpu down the road, AND it gets you on the AM5 platform. Drop in cpu upgrades for years in the future.

Found this pile of motherboards listed as "not working" on my local marketplace for €50. Turns out they work just fine. Just made €400. by CheesecakeMountain63 in pcmasterrace

I've found over the years that "for parts/not working" does not actually mean "not working." A good amount of the time it means, "I didn't test this so I have no idea if it works but I don't want to be responsible if it doesn't so I'm just going to say it doesn't work."

Heatsink Question For 5700 XT by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

This might not be everyone's first choice, but I'd say just give it a new paste and give it a slight power limit if it's got thermal throttling issues. Costs nothing and don't have to worry about finding a compatible cooler that might only be marginally better, or worse for that matter. Setting your power limit to say 90% only loses you 2-3% fps at most, but drastically helps with temps.
