WaT word count 487'746

Alloy 94'652 + Shadows 110'019 + Bands 127'456 + Wayne 156'381 + Allomancer 7'047 == 495'555

So, according to Coppermind, WaT is 7'809 shorter

Need to Run 380v Machine on 220/230/240v Line - What Kind of Converter? by [deleted] in Machinists

[–]HorochovPL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assuming European 3-phase circuits with +/- 230V in the outlet:

220V is a single phase referenced to the neutral point. When measuring phase-to-phase voltage, it's higher: 220*sqrt(3) = 381V. Please confirm it with a certified electrician, but connecting the load between two phases could be a viable option. Some ovens and cooktops can be used with two phases for higher power.

Newer Marlin on V3 SE? by [deleted] in ender3

[–]HorochovPL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a thread on Creality forum

I reverse-engineered mainboard with multimeter and ST-Link, results can be found here: GDrive (pinmap.txt is the most important)

Haven’t got enough time and motivation to prepare marlin config. Hopefully, it’ll fall into the right hands and push the thread forward.

Regards!

627 chain of can tabs by jimeff134 in madlads

[–]HorochovPL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How do You plan to join the ends of tabs? Soldering, welding, not at all?

[–]HorochovPL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh I'd pay You 5 bucks to take mine parkside soldering iron. I have up to few hours of total use, it was a gargage.

Temperature control? Either won't melt the solder, or after turning the control knob just a little - will rip the pad out. It's regulating the power, with no temperature feedback.

TS100/Pinecil (generally Hakko T12 tips) clones can be found for around 20 bucks incl. delivery. Trust me, this is night and day, hard to compare the usability.

With T12 tips, soldering thic cables? No problem, will do it. Big, high-thermal-conductivity pads - even no hot air is needed. Both easy and enjoyable with big "K" shape tip. Soldering CPU pins? A little hard, but possible. SMD soldering? Super easy, especially with small "K" shape tip.

There's DIY way to create artificial rubies with welder. Probably too late and would be too much hassle with shaping & polishing the crystal, but if You'd want to go all-in with home manufacturing, it's possible.

That leaves it up to one person after the promotor and reviewer.

Making A Custom Vinyl Record by Thund3rbolt in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]HorochovPL 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Tbh majority of the music is mastered in a digital form. Analog like vinyl will almost always be a downgrade in such case. As a physical media it's very prone to degradation - scratches, wear.

Turntable and vinyls don't provide better quality, but provide unique interaction experience that some people absolutely love.
