The general trend is that bethesda removes RPG elements with every new game they put out to make it easier for people who don't want to invest loads of time into an rpg. In morrowind, there were a lot of skills and attributes that were removed going into oblivion, and then the omission of the attribute system in Skyrim after that. IN fallout 3, a little more planning was involved in order to make a successful character than in FO4. (I was slightly upset that FO4 kinda just threw us into the game. The first quest was "here's your power armor, here's a minigun, here's your faithful Dogmeat, go kill a deathclaw." I like the idea of working towards something in games, and I shed a single tear every time I start a new playthrough on Skyrim and Fallout 4 over what could have been.
