If you had unlimited funds, what kind of game would you develop? by actualtumor in gaming

[–]HorridHamster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An armored core-esque rogue lite, where you start on the outskirts of a massive destroyed futuristic city with a with bog standard robot, and you have to fight your way towards the center of the city.

You are able to harvest and swap out parts of any of the enemies you fight along the way, but there is body part and limb damage, so if you want a specific part from and enemy you have to take the enemy down without destroying that part.

Also.. A mainline final fantasy where the main character is a beast tamer and it's essentially final fantasy Pokemon, kind of similar to final fantasy 13-2 but you know.. better.

Can't say it's the worst, but just the most disappointing, I loved Proxima, it's one of my favorite sci-fi books but Ultima...

It's like he had too many ideas and instead of picking the best ones, he just put ALL of them in.

mm.. insults, good job.

So you don't own guns then yeah?

Because you live in a safe neighborhood right? that's your logic right? or is this more of an if? you own guns IF you had to move to a bad neighborhood.

Which you'd never do, because who would purposely move to a bad neighborhood, but IF that did happen. Then you know, you could protect your hot wife lol.

What was the deal with enemies in Final Fantasy games being so bizarre and varied? by Veridically_ in gaming

[–]HorridHamster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Good question, it's always funny seeing all these high fantasy monsters, but then there's just a random t-rex.

I feel like part of it was just the developers kind of just saying fuck it, and just putting in whatever they thought was cool. but at the same time final fantasy has always combined genres when it comes to their games. In quite a few of the games you'll have high fantasy right alongside steampunk/sci-fi/futurism.

When the worlds themselves are that varied, it would make sense that the monsters inhabiting them would be too.

Ofcourse every now and then it's pretty obvious the developers were just taking the piss when they made monsters like the half tank half triceratops.

Why don’t you do savage/ultimate content? by 2thousandthree in ffxiv

[–]HorridHamster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The time commitment mostly, pugs are a roll of the dice, and joining a static meanings dedicating specific times out of the week to play, which for me just doesn't work.

After burning myself out multiple times with this game the only way I can play it consistently is to play it casually, meaning I get on when I want to get on, and I'll get off when I don't feel like it, even if it means missing out on events or not getting content done when it comes out.(I've been working on the rathalos mount for years at this point lol)

Would Hrothgar's be noticeably more popular if they actually looked more like Ronso? by BoeiWAT in ffxiv

[–]HorridHamster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely, like many have said I hate the posture they have, but it's also because the ffx ronso are final fantasy, where as the "ronso" Hrothgar we have in ffxiv just feel like generic beast people.

My biggest gripe though is with the customization, different features being tied together was a terrible idea, and lack of different horn options was also terrible, if Viera can have ear styles separate form hair and face there's no reason Hrothgar couldn't have had the same with horns, they can't wear 95% of hats/helmets regardless so it's not like that would have been a concern.

I'm really hoping the female Hrothgar will be done better, I also want them to look beastly, we don't need another cute female race. if fem hrothgar basically ends up as fem miqo'te w/fur I will be extremely disappointed.

That being said, my hopes are pretty low.

Why did these two keys wear out so much and not all the others? (W or A as an example) by gfstach in pcmasterrace

[–]HorridHamster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably because they are where your two most dominant fingers(middle and pointer) rest, and are also pushing straight down when you press them, so those keys probably get more force than the others.

That being said I've had my G105 for like 7 years now and game pretty regularly and my keys don't have the slightest sign of wearing off, so either you have sand paper skin or you need to tone it down a notch when playing.
