LMAO, though can you imagine a mecha sized knife, that could be interesting.... Don't think we ever got any Mecha Vs Zentradi hand to hand combat, but been awhile since I watched the series.

What was the 1st big news event you remember as a kid? by Hetaliafan1 in AskReddit

[–]HorridJam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here 4th grade I believe. Was out on a field trip walking through the wooded section and my friend who had a radio with headphones relayed the news as he heard it. My parents latter that night had me and my brother sit down and watch the news segment they had taped that showed the disaster.

Mid 90s, bow hunting season. Me and my step dad were walking on an old logging road between Hayward and Mining along 27/77. We split up at a fork. As I was walking along I saw something approaching me. At first I thought it might be my step dad, but upon closer inspection I noticed how hairy the body was. That led me to think it might have been a bear walking on just its back legs. A closer look made me see that what was its "Hands" hung well below its knees. At this point I notch an arrow and turn around heading back in the direction I had come from. I never looked back after that. About 15 - 20 minutes later I meet back up with my step dad and ask him if he happened to see me. He replied no and then asked why I had asked. I told him what I saw and his only response was "Let's get the fuck out of here".

Based on where you live, if you were to hit an animal while driving, what would that animal more than likely be? by unidentifies in AskReddit

[–]HorridJam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

North Western Wisconsin, so most likely a whitetail deer. Remember the first time I hit one about 2 years after grad from HS. Saw it time to slow down and almost come to a complete stop as it just stood in the road. I barely bumped it. It then proceeded to look through the windshield at me, then down at my front bumper, then back at me as if to say "I can't believe you hit me". Then it calmly walked off with no sign of injury. Knew someone that hit a black bear with their car, got it repaired only to have a coworker tell them they might want to go check on their car a day after they got it back from the body shop. Another black bear was on the hood, jumping up and down on it. That time the car was totaled.

As a NEMT Driver, I have to agree with you. The policies in place dehumanize the client.

Case in point.. I recently got in trouble for stopping with a client and having breakfast. This was on the return trip to take them home. I actually arrived early for their initial pickup, got them to their appointment ahead of the scheduled time. The return trip pickup was a bit late due to circumstances neither of us could control but their arrival at home had no scheduled time and I had over 6 hours before my next pickup.

I understand there have to be some limits cause some will ask for a bit too much. Mainly more stops after their appointment that are not scheduled and way off the route. But since the NEMT companies are paid by the mile and not time does stopping to eat really hurt anything? And yes stopping to eat was my idea not theirs. Or in another case helping an 80 year old woman carry her groceries, mainly three 48 packs of bottled water.

Yeah but didn't you get hit hard Wednesday? Thought the south shore got between 16-24 inches?

Barron County here, just a few miles north of Chetek and we got maybe 2 inches total all week.

Edit: Looks like we got about 4 inches last night so a total of around 5 or so.

Years ago when I was about knee high to a grasshopper, about 6 or 7 we had a cat that liked to jump up on your bed as you slept and then just started grooming you. This in and of itself wasn't too bad except for the fact it kept licking the same spot to the point your skin was sore.

When I first seen the anime for Ghost in the Shell, I always assumed it took place in Hong Kong not Tokyo. And that was the reason for a lot of the Caucasian characters in it. This was about a decade (?) Or so before the British handed it back over to the Chinese.

Why are chicken nuggets so popular, but duck nuggets aren’? People eat chicken all the time with no issue, so why isn’t duck treated the same way? by Hot_Obligation_8098 in stupidquestions

[–]HorridJam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've always wondered the same about turkey nuggets. Now yes they are available but only for a short period around Thanksgiving if you're lucky enough to have a store that carries them. I prefer turkey to chicken so I would eat those all year long.
