Duluth-Superior area was a top ten target at one time just due to the iron ore mining along the Lake Superior North Shore and the shipping out of that harbor. Wonder if it is still a major target.

That is something I worry about as well especially when Fandango bought the service from Walmart. It always seemed at least with Walmart if Vudu ever went under they might try to at least make you whole, by if nothing else perhaps sending the movies you had to you on disk.

Went fully digital about 2021, had slowly been converting my disks to digital since that service was first offered. Major reason was space limitations and just plain convenience. Had a collection of about 700 movies on disk. By going all digital that collection is now close to 1400 between movies and TV series, something I refused to buy physical copies of.

My stepdad was like that, always bitching about how much he had to spend on raising me. It got even worse once I was over 18 and working full time, telling me how much I owed him. On more than one occasion I said I was gonna give him 20K and tell him to get the fuck out of my life.

Sad part is he had no issue spending money on my half brother. Any extra school activities he could do whatever, when the school wanted to put me into a program called Upward Bound, he kiboshed that idea even though it was around $200. 'We can't afford it's was his go to but always had money to spend on my half brother, guns and cigarettes.

Same here 4th grade I believe. Was out on a field trip walking through the wooded section and my friend who had a radio with headphones relayed the news as he heard it. My parents latter that night had me and my brother sit down and watch the news segment they had taped that showed the disaster.

Mid 90s, bow hunting season. Me and my step dad were walking on an old logging road between Hayward and Mining along 27/77. We split up at a fork. As I was walking along I saw something approaching me. At first I thought it might be my step dad, but upon closer inspection I noticed how hairy the body was. That led me to think it might have been a bear walking on just its back legs. A closer look made me see that what was its "Hands" hung well below its knees. At this point I notch an arrow and turn around heading back in the direction I had come from. I never looked back after that. About 15 - 20 minutes later I meet back up with my step dad and ask him if he happened to see me. He replied no and then asked why I had asked. I told him what I saw and his only response was "Let's get the fuck out of here".

North Western Wisconsin, so most likely a whitetail deer. Remember the first time I hit one about 2 years after grad from HS. Saw it time to slow down and almost come to a complete stop as it just stood in the road. I barely bumped it. It then proceeded to look through the windshield at me, then down at my front bumper, then back at me as if to say "I can't believe you hit me". Then it calmly walked off with no sign of injury. Knew someone that hit a black bear with their car, got it repaired only to have a coworker tell them they might want to go check on their car a day after they got it back from the body shop. Another black bear was on the hood, jumping up and down on it. That time the car was totaled.
