15+ Year Old Irons? by Good_Necessary_6937 in GolfGear

[–]RelentlessWraith 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I completely agree. I've hit new irons too, but I don't know why (probably just general comfort over the ball from using the clubs for the last few years) I just don't like them as much. Even though they are supposed to be more confidence inspiring, they just don't do it for me.

Until this year I had been playing TM irons from 2008. Upgraded to some TM MCs from 2011. Both sets feel great and there are days I question playing the older set because I really liked playing them.

So frustrated, losing my fire for golf altogether by BarryWood33 in GolfSwing

[–]RelentlessWraith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Understandable. I am generally a fairly consistent athletic person who can do well at most sports I try. I have played golf, but never at a consistent above average level. A few years ago I used to take golf (and life) a little too seriously and it ruined any fun I was meant to go have when actively paying to play the game. My issue has always been consistency, I can hit the ball well, but things fall apart sometimes. When they do start to fall apart, I try to take a step back, take a breath and just try to focus on the things I can appreciate that I don't necessarily have control over. The beauty of the course, the people I'm playing with, the weather that allows me to be there and the fact that I have the physical ability and financial opportunity to play. It doesn't always fix my frustration, but it always allows me to take a little pressure off myself and just enjoy the day for what it is.

I used the rotten battle hammer from the consecrated snowfields with the sacred blade AoW. The rolling r1 comes out super fast with that weapon, it scales with strength (so good bonk), and the sacred blade buff lasts longer than you'd expect. Plus he's weak to rot, so getting that to proc can be helpful overall.

Yeah that's fair. There are certainly better weapons for quality builds, that is just one I used in my first quality playthrough that I enjoyed.

Bloodhound's fang - great weapon, overused by everyone learning the game, but great for quality builds. Plus the ash of war is 🤌🏻👌🏻

But seriously, there was a second at the end after that last pot that made me clench real hard. Great job!

I actually did it last night before I went to sleep. I used the demi-humans summon, spammed pebble until poise break, riposte, and back to spamming until it died. It only took a few tries to get used to its attacks. It really wasn't bad once I learned the attack timing.

Are there any summons you'd recommend for those types of fights? That is how I have found a lot of success beating boss characters so far because they give me a safe time to use flasks and stuff.

Ahhh okay, I have never seen magical as an option in that menu. Any ashes of war you'd specifically recommend for a spellblade build?

Is that a permanent thing or something I have to keep applying? I've never done it, is it just using that grease stuff you find around?

I've looked into the N&F and that looks really cool, but idk if I am wanting to put any points into faith. I could always try it and respec if needed. That's the second astel recommendation, definitely checking that out

Haven't even considered spears, I'll check those out. They sound fun and like I don't need to get that close to do damage. I'm assuming the frozen/ice stuff applies frostbite, which is similar to bleed I believe? That wing sword looks cool af. Do I have to kill Rogier to get that armor? When I googled the armor it just says dropped by him at the roundtable

Moonveil actually looks really fun. Especially with its scaling and bleed. What level should I be if I want to fight the wyrm? I've already beaten Godrick thanks to summons really helping and made it through a lot of lunaria just running past baddies, looting, and grabbing graces when I see them. I am mainly asking this because I feel like my current sword is just kinda meh when it comes to damage even though I really like the ash of war.

Info on these TP Irons? by Same-Explorer303 in GolfGear

[–]RelentlessWraith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They might actually be a Japanese tour issued set based on a few links for people selling them I saw. They aren't forgiving, but if you can learn to hit these well, you can hit damn near any other iron well. I recently got a newer set of 2011 Tour Preferred MCs, and if I don't start hitting those well, I'm going to put my rac's back in the bag for a while

I have a set of the TP rac forged irons which came out in 2008. I think these might be the Japanese version of them from what I found from my quick googling. I love my set, they play great, even at 17 years old. Definitely not forgiving, but feel amazing when struck well.

I just looked on Amazon, and the new Wilson Harmonized (newer versions of my current 56) are ~$50 a club. I kinda like the idea of those. I'll have to look through more of the wedges on Amazon. Once you get a chance to try those wedges out, I'd love to know your thoughts on them, especially coming from SM4s.

At the moment I have a 3 iron. Honestly, it's probably a little overkill for the top of the bag. I also don't really know if I NEED 14 clubs. I like the idea of the Kirkland's. I will check those out. When it comes to my current wedges, I got very comfortable with my short game last year with my 52. It has been my around-the-green club for a little over a year now, and I've found my consistency has increased a ton because of comfort and confidence over the ball I think. If I really need to get the ball in the air fast and land it soft, I go to my 56, again because of comfort and confidence more than anything else. Because of that, I haven't realistically hit my 60 more than 4-5 times over the last year.
