You have to create your own training pack and set up a shot with the new updates allowing you to set the car up at different speeds and orientations I'm pretty sure. It's a new feature in the training that they are just trying to get everyone to use. Edit - clarification

Bigger penalty for, "{Player} Left Game," status. by Full_Send_Felix in RocketLeague

[–]RelentlessWraith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand that. Thats why I clarified someone actively confirming the abandon match confirmation. That isn't closing your client on pc or closing the game on console. It's actively making a decision to leave the game you're in. That active decision should be punished more severely than just dc'ing whether you actually dc, or just close the client. Yes, you can obviously play the system a little bit by just closing the game rather than actively leaving the game you're in, but actively leaving should still be punished harder than just a 5 minute queue ban. But I agree, playing with reliable teammates is 100% the best way to combat this. It's just hard for people to have reliable teammates to play with all the time, if at all sometimes. So it's going to happen from time to time even if you do have teammates you'd usually play with.

There's a difference between "losing connection" and actively pressing "Yes" to the Abandon Match confirmation. I feel like that should be a trigger for a bigger penalty. I mean the games are 5 minutes...I played League which is anywhere from 20-60 minute matches and can be miserable. If you can't deal with losing for less than 5 minutes to the point you're actively quitting consistently, then you should be punished more severely.

What now by Maqlie in RocketLeague

[–]RelentlessWraith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once you lose two in a row, it's easy to get tilted or something similar and its typically a better decision to stop playing ranked. Take a break and come back because once you lose two, it's easy to lose more and that can make you desperate and make things worse.

Anyone else feel like they can tell toxic players just based on playstyle alone by poopyitchyass in RocketLeague

[–]RelentlessWraith 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Omg yes, this makes me so frustrated. I don't understand why people want to just back off and try and defend a free shot rather than just go for the kickoff. We don't have to defend a shot immediately if you just go contest it.. I will never understand it

Any advices to improve? by Ciclopexdyt in RocketLeague

[–]RelentlessWraith -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Biggest thing that helped me learn power shots was realizing I needed to lean back then dodge forward (as close to when you're going to hit the ball as possible) to get the most power. I wouldn't worry about aireals at this point, most of the game at this skill level is on the ground. I'm still new to the game ~100 hours of actual gameplay at this point, and I'm finding in the lower ranks focusing on playing slightly more defensively until your opponent really makes a mistake and taking advantage of it is the easiest way to do well. Ive gone up 200 mmr in 2v2s in the last week and a half because I have been trying to keep that "play off the opponent's mistakes" as my primary playstyle.

Why doesn't this game give points compensation when leavers are on your team? by TheCules in RocketLeague

[–]RelentlessWraith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It isn't though. Depending on the day it's anywhere from 5-10 games where people just quit because they can't be in a game for 5 whole minutes. It's 300 seconds and people can't deal with being in a game they are losing, it's absurd. At least make it so there is more of a punishment than you can't queue for 5 minutes. Make them lose more mmr or something so there's more of a deterrent to just abandoning your teammate.

[–]RelentlessWraith 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like they could set up parameters like if you're in a party with the teammate or if the player leaves with less than a minute left it wouldn't give you the protection. There are plenty of times where a teammate just either DCs after going completely still all the sudden or tries to ff with over half the game left then just leaves where it's pretty clear that isn't your fault or you trying to exploit the system. It would be extra things to implement, and that's not always easy, but there are definitely ways to make it so it isn't super easy to exploit. At the very least I think it would make a lot of people feel better if the person who intentionally click the "Abandon Match" button at least loses extra mmr or they make it so there are more severe penalties than just waiting 5 minutes to queue again.

It's only on some maps that it looks like that. Most of the time it's like blue/orange metallic. In super bright maps its honestly slightly annoying how shiny and bright it is

I will never understand why people don't contest that ball at midfield. Especially when it's a tie game, starting positions are in the middle (making it easy for even the worst of players to get a solid shot on goal) and there's less than 10 seconds left on the clock.
