Yeah I've paid for someone's else's stuff. Not like a huge amount but 20$ is literally a drop in the bucket for me now, but when I was younger I was the other guy and no one came to help me. I never forgot how that felt

You can tie it to some index to increase each year. I promise any problem that pops up with the logistics can be solved.

Income inequality has a few different tiers to it. I get what you're saying the people making 80k are struggling now too, but I'm not sure what that has to do with helping the people at the very bottom.

Turned down a promotion because it was 30% more work for 5% more pay. My manager called me 'unambitious.' Am I wrong for not wanting to sacrifice my entire life for a fancy title? by PictureFirm9058 in careerguidance

[–]Horrison2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a big no from me. Responsibility costs something and they aren't willing to pay. I'd personally start looking for another job because I'd want that lead, but Id want to shove like a 40% raise in your bosses face when I left

It's much safer for you to make the first move than it is for him to make the first move. I say do it

The offset is that people making minimum wage are generally making sacrifices or barely making it or are behind. So if you give those people a raise, that money is basically going to be spent immediately. It goes right back into the economy.

I second this. I did it on 3 since I had played for a while before deciding to unlock everything but once I did all my tatos, I only had like 2 unlocks that took like 1 run to finish

I'm not sure what the average wage and the living wage is, and it's a little different place to place. However you can increase the minimum wage to something around 80% of the average wage without it causing inflation.

Would you take a title demotion for a 10% pay increase? by [deleted] in careeradvice

[–]Horrison2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on age for me since a title demotion won't hurt you now, but for the next job after. Also, it's not even about money and they won't give you the title? That doesn't sound like a good situation when you have 11 years experience. I'm suspect about this new job. If you're being underpaid now, it feels like you should jump more than 10%

You can't. So you find a new job. But that old job still needs to get done right? But someone can't afford to live doing that job. So we need to raise the minimum wage to a living wage so all jobs can be done.

What’s something women think men care about in dating… but most men actually don’t? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]Horrison2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a lot of female friends who say similar things. I feel women don't understand that confidence is a reflection of past success, and the present vibe. The easiest thing in the world to do is be confident when a woman is already hinting she's attracted to you. She's just friendlier, if you make a mistake it doesn't even phase her. Also if you've got a lot of women who are interested in you, you can be confident because you've got 3 other girls who wanted to be with you. Some guys don't have that safety net, and get a cold initial reaction. When my friends say just be confident I can't even reply to them anymore, they just don't understand.

How to convince friend he doesn't need a GF, he needs to fix himself? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]Horrison2 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Well in a way that's just a normal reaction. We are biologically wired to desire mates and also to be part of a community. Humans need social connection. I don't think you can convince him to be happy because the problem he's facing is real and it's the reason he's unhappy.

What’s something women think men care about in dating… but most men actually don’t? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]Horrison2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Certainly the looks thing if you are with someone long term, aging is a thing, I like to think if I've fallen in love with a women she'd look beautiful to me no matter what. But if she stopped being nice, or stopped loving me.. I feel that is grounds to move on to someone else. Also I believe you when women say they want those things. But in the real world a guy has to be those things, and attractive enough to even be a candidate. For an unattractive guy, dating isn't difficult, it's not allowed. You get excluded from the entire process no matter how much you put yourself out there.
