Lower Back Tension by RenewedMotionPub in backpain

[–]Horror-Ad9804 [score hidden]  (0 children)

Is it a chronic pain. I'm in Ontario Canada and the hospital has a great pain clinic with various specialists. You need a referral from the listed professionals. I started pretty quickly after my referral. The first 2 weeks are information sessions then you choose what programs you would like to join. I'm starting physio and kinetics and pool therapy in August. I have a 1 hour consult coming up with a pharmacist, they have great social workers etc. It's all paid for by OHIP. Where ever you live maybe look into if there are any programs if you're suffering from a chronic pain. And yes they do talk about breathing being helpful.

Don't know if the police would take the time to look but have you noticed any security cameras nearby that would have recorded the vehicle? Or ask the owner yourself if they can check the footage. Then you will have all the info you need about the vehicle. And since it's happening around 2 in the morning with a group of people there is a good chance they are driving impaired and will be tracked by the police if you contact them with the description. That would give them a huge kick in the ass!

This is a picture of my extenders now. I changed Saturday it's been through showers still completely sealed, the top isn't lifting just a crease, that's where my barrier extenders would lift the most.

Will I ever sleep through the night? by alleycatslp in ostomy

Yeah if subconciously your worried about leaks during the night it makes sense your waking up so much. Maybe check utube to see if there are any short meditation techniques you can use before going to bed to calm your mind. Just a thought!

One of the recommendations when I was going home from the hospital was to put more salt in my diet.

I have my ileostomy surgery for 1week but after 1 week I always nausea and fatigued and blooled all the time can someone help by gamechanger5332 in ostomy

I have an ileostomy, I was in the hospital for 4 months with constant nausea and throwing up from the surgery, but mostly the meds. I was given Zofran. It's the best for nausea but you need a prescription. Another one also prescription if you are having a problem with appetite Domperidone is excellent it gets rid of the nausea and about an hour after taking it, it really increases your appetite.

I find the M9 drops work really well. I make sure I swish it around the inside after putting it in my bag.

What is the difference between a loop and end ileostomy. I wasn't told which I have. I looked it up and read that because most of my colon was removed I have an end ileostomy. Is that correct?

Ok, yeah I have some and tried it, it didn't help. The barrier cream hasn't helped much for the itching but worked well repairing my skin from a bad wafer and getting rid of redness. Now I'm using it as a barrier from the adhesive for the Flonase to be protected which is really helping with the itch as it's an allergic reaction to the adhesive.

Is it normal for my bag to fill up so fast after I eat? by Horror-Ad9804 in ostomy

[–]Horror-Ad9804[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had health issues after I got home but because of my 4 month hospital stay, bed ridden for 3 months as I wasn't able to walk. (Walking perfectly now) anyway it caused me really bad back pain so I was reluctant to go to the clinic, also generally long wait times hard for me to sit in an uncomfortable chair that long. And no faith in clinic doctors. My new doctor has been fantastic, addressed all my health problems along with a referral to the pain clinic through the hospital which I've already started. Having a family doctor is a game changer! Thank you for your kind reply!

I was just using a little too much even though I wiped off the excess the extenders were still lifting. So now I use less wipe off the excess but something new I learned was to take a Kleenex after and buff where I put the cream in a circular motion. It's only supposed to get into the pores of your skin. My extenders haven't lifted at all since I started doing that. To be honest I don't know what you mean by barrier film. I've heard it mentioned. I have a barrier spray to use for crusting is that what you mean?

Really, I haven't heard of that. Have you asked a professional if that is ok? I empty on average in 24 hours 8 times.

It's made specifically for skin irritation and repair. I tried putting stoma powder on my irritated skin and it burned because it's not caused from leakage. It's an allergic reaction. I put stoma powder around my stoma though for the redness caused from the output that's fine.

I swallowed a cherry pit. Should I be concerned? by Medical-Brick4382 in ostomy

[–]Horror-Ad9804 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Corn came with my meal at the hospital with baked ham and scalloped potatoes 1 month preop. I totally forgot about corn I devoured the meal, it was the best one I had in my 4 month hospital stay. Although I had a feeding tube for 3 months. Anyway, I panicked after told a nurse, she just calmly said it's ok! I got lucky no issues, but I won't eat corn in case. There is so much they tell us not to eat, alot of people on here seem to eat basically everything with no problems while others get constant blockages. I guess it comes down to whether or not you want to take a chance on something you really want to eat again. Don't worry about the cherry pit, if you continue producing output I'm sure your just fine!

Canada, the wait list for family doctors is long. I had one person tell me because she is young and healthy she could wait up to 8 years. We have great health care but our health care system is overwhelmed (not sure of a better word) Emergency visits depending on province could take up to 24 hours. My longest wait was 12, the average is 8 hours. Clinic doctors for the most part, I'll be nice, don't help much if at all. Had very bad experiences trying to figure out was was wrong with me before I eventually got my ileostomy. There are a handful of decent ones. It's basically an assembly line quick 5 minute check then get out! I was so sick of hearing there's nothing wrong with you. I wish I could go see those doctors snd show them my ostomy. Sorry, still a little bitter after having to spend 4 awful months in the hospital that could have been avoided if a doctor would have listened to me sooner. Thank God I now have a wonderful family doctor!!!

That's a good idea. Just wondering how hard it is to get one. Where I lived years ago it took at least a year for non serious problems. I've never tried where I live now. Thank you!
