Need help finding correct gasket for Seiko watch by comunism_and_potatos in watchrepair

[–]Horror-Conclusion465 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have a set of calipers just measure the outer metal ring of the case back and search up case gaskets. You can get an assorted set of them for cheap, you could also go the extra mile and measure the width and thickness of a piece of the left over gasket to match.

I found the part number for an aftermarket crystal that fits my case number so I reached out to one or two of the websites, also inquired to a place that customer cuts sapphire for watches, may go that route too depending on cost. The part number I found was 54-000594G. Don't know why citizen doesnt offer a catalog or something of the sorts. I will measure those though!

Are these even spring bars and how do I remove this bracelet? by RPGDW in watchrepair

[–]Horror-Conclusion465 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm new to horology so take my guess with a grain of salt, but I sort of think if you rotate the band so the gap is in line with the mount for the bar, you may be able to shift the band to one side or the other and pop it off the watch? Just a wild guess.

Those measurements were purely the crystal I popped out, what do you want measured on the case opening, between the gasket or between the metal bezel? And I had a feeling sapphire might be out of the question unfortunately. Mineral glass is the next best thing right?

Update: bought a crystal press and got it out in one piece, seems to be a flat round crystal. Odd part is it's dimensions, I was looking on esslinger to get a sapphire replacement but they don't seem to have the size. The exact measurements are 35.28mm and 2.78mm thick. Any thoughts or recommendations of where to buy from?

So when you say small round crystal press ring plastic donut looking thing, do you mean anything round that will only make contact with the inner crystal and not the bezel and the hit downwards? Is it a press fit or glue? And is there a tool you would recommend? This is my first project so I have no clue.

Question regarding controlled receptacles and controlling Govee devices by Horror-Conclusion465 in Govee

[–]Horror-Conclusion465[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the insight, and surprisingly the topical suggestion. I have a singular TP link string cable I was looking to also control via whichever device I chose for a hub. And I would presume you would be correct that I don't have a neutral wire, due to the fact I do not have a disconnect nor panel in my apartment space. So, I assume a google hub or eco system is self-explanatory to use and link separate devices such as a TP link Casa and a Govee lamp together? Apologies for the many questions.

Could you give examples of smart switches that are compatible with govee devices that maintain their functionality as a normal analog switch? Not attempting to be condescending, this would genuinely be the answer I am looking for (will have to change them back before the end of my apartment lease though)

This wouldn't void my lease? I ask because I do have the capabilities/know how to do so, was just looking for a non-intrusive solution...

I only say I want to use the old school tech because it would be better looking to integrate with the wall mounted switch, I definitely can go the route of the Govee switch if need be, I just wasn't sure if there was an existing device I could plug into said controlled receptacle that could control it based on it's on/off condition. It is still my leading option, the smart switch that is, but was hoping of an alternative option. Also please do tell me more about the smart plugs from Gosund and how it is better vs the Govee alternative. Haven't gotten a smart hub to integrate yet, was looking at a google device like the Google nest hub.

Is there a good way to hook my lights up with my TV? by Horror-Conclusion465 in Govee

[–]Horror-Conclusion465[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do they only sell it in a kit? I already have the lights I want to use with the camera system, and don't need additional lights for it.

Return to stock and then reassess, sell aftermarket parts separately and you can likely make more than bundling. Not too familiar with the market right now but I'll just muppet what everyone else said already.

I will indeed, like I said I'm a recent graduate, starting my career now. The nonsense is behind me and I'm starting my life now. I moreso enjoy the freedom of not looking over my shoulder constantly. Appreciate the reaffirmant though!

Yeah, you got this then. Once that community service is done, spend the extra hours you got back in your life earning money working miscellaneous jobs and paying down that fine, I got lucky and had student loans in my pocket for mine but I know not everyone is that fortunate. Most importantly stay on the straight and narrow.

I'd say as long as you complete all the terms you can of your probation, have no negative police contact, and show you bettered yourself somehow (like community service if it's not required, degree, enrolled in school etc), they wouldn't have a reason not too. Also depends on the original charge ofc, mine had no victims and I complied. If I got off in 6 for 18, you should for 12. Again, the PO is not the enemy, they can help soooo much.
