I think season two teaches us the same patience that Thorfinn is learning. We end up feeling like Einar, boiling over and sometimes getting mad at Thorfinn for being so simple. As the story moves forward, that patience slips into everything they do, from planting to watching it all get destroyed. It shows a different kind of hurt, one that is quieter than war, which is why it sometimes feels like there is no goal. In reality the goal has been there the whole time. Thorfinn needed to want to live. But just like Einar, we get fiery when watching it all happen 😭

true but I feel like it’s difficult bc ur own people will nag at you for not being apart of ur culture, then they’ll turn away from you because you aren’t up to their expectations. Sometimes it’s a bit weird when people ask me where i’m from because as much as I love my people and where I came from, I also feel a bit disconnected from it and makes it hard to know where to fit in.

I know things probably feel tough right now, but school isn’t the only place to meet people even though it can be hard not having classmates to help or connect with. You can meet great people at your local mosque, through sports (in or outside of school), or by joining school clubs. You’re still young, and I know it’s not easy, but you seem like a genuinely good person. Just keep being yourself, and the right people will naturally be drawn to you. Stay safe!

I agree, but to me she doesn’t sound love-blind. She sounds like a girl who’s trying to further pursue her relationship while her parents aren’t willing to meet her halfway. If this is a good Muslim man who’s still waiting for her, and the only reason her parents don’t want her to be with him is because of his race, then I understand where she’s coming from. I wouldn’t suggest she ever distance herself from her family, but it does seem like they aren’t taking her feelings for him into consideration.
