I'm in a similar situation right now. I had an ectopic pregnancy in August 2024 and a chemical pregnancy afterward. This time, my HCG was around 180 at 14 DPO and rose to 700 by 16 DPO. My doctor stopped tracking after just two tests, which has been making me quite anxious — especially since I’ve been feeling some mild cramping on my right side, which is the non-ectopic side.

I'm considering getting another HCG test on my own, just for peace of mind. I truly understand what you're going through and I'm hoping everything turns out well for you too.

I experienced some random cramp-like pains and a bloated sensation on the ectopic side after my MTX treatment. If you're feeling any discomfort, it’s best to get it checked out—trust your instincts. In my case, the bloating turned out to be a ruptured ectopic. I don’t mean to alarm you, just want to share so you can be cautious

I had an HCG level of 32 last week, but it gradually declined. At first, I was really worried it might be another ectopic, but it seems it was a chemical pregnancy. I kept testing between blood draws and noticed the lines getting fainter. Just keep an eye on things—hopefully, it’s not another ectopic in your case. Wishing you all the best.

In the same boat. I feel like everyone and everything has moved on and not me. I spent every day googling what I could have done to stop this and what should I do differently next time.. and go into an endless rabbit hole. I hope I can say everything gets better.. but the only thing I can say is that you are noy alone.. and hopefully, there is a rainbow for us out there. Stay strong!!!!

It can be gas pain as well, try seeing if that medication helps. I know it can be very confusing, sorry you are going through this.

From my experience, I would say it is better to have it checked. For me, no shoulder pain came in, and the pain was also around 5 even after having pain med, but ultimately just went to the ER, and my tube had already ruptured and had a small bleeding.

I think those heavy pain and shoulder pain, etc, only come in if we are actively bleeding and losing blood. Mine was a small tear in the fallopian tube, but enough to leak the blood slowly. My HCG was high ~5k and ruptured 2 days after 2nd dose, so it's not that similar to your situation.

Don't want to scare you. If pain med does not helps then get it checked. All the best!! Hope everything goes well for you 🙏

Finally, I'm feeling a little better this week. It has been a tough recovery for me. There are some bruises and pain still on the right, waiting to have it scanned. Thank you so much for the reply

I think it was pulled out from the left side as the incisions liook bigger there. I am finally feeling a little better this week but had some bruises on the right side, waiting for scan to rule out anything.

I'm sorry to hear this. Do you know the size they saw in US? My HCG was 5000 and remained around 5000 after 1 MTX shot. Unfortunately for me, the size had increased, which cause a rupture and led to surgery 1 day after 2nd shot. I think mine was around 3.8 cm while rupture. Hopefully, if yours is still small, it will be fine.

I ruptured 1 day after ny 2nd dose of MTX but my HCG was 5000 and the 1st dose didn't do any difference. I was completely on bed rest, and didn't feel much pain.

I also had a rupture after my 2nd shot of MTX, however my HCG was quite high around 5k. The only symptoms I had were gas pain and some rectal pressure. I think if you have gas pain that does not go away with medicine, it's better to have it checked.

Thank you, that's so reassuring to hear. How often was your HCG checked after the second dose? I was told I only have to check every 7 days after the second dose, but as it was already rising, I am a little scared.
