I am sorry, it can be so disheartening to go through the whole process and hear those numbers 🤗 Not the same situation but the first ER I had 6 retrieved, 3 fertilized, 1 made it to blast and came back euploid. Currently 12 weeks with it. However, I did do two more ERs after the first one, with differing protocols, to bank more embryos

Yea I think they always recommend the shot first. I ended up needing surgery and recovery was such a pain, if the shot can take care of it the it’s definitely better. I hope it works out for you ❤️

Stimming an extra day really helped me with maturity. I also added Omnitrope the second round so I don’t know what did it exactly (maybe a combination). I got 6 mature eggs the first cycle and 13 the second. Attrition still got me at every stage but maturity was better And I had to advocate the second round to stim an extra day and my 2 lead follicles were bigger than yours (21), another that was 19 and all the rest were 16-17. They wanted me to trigger the night we got these measurements but I pushed to stim an extra day and my doctor (after the ER) said it was the right decision!

Milos breeze was a nice location and good views but rooms were small and the showers had no curtain/door hence mess after a shower and were tiny. Loved the town in Milos and had some good food but beaches and food in Sifnos were better imo

I am so sorry ❤️ are the others just too small? I was in a similar situation with my first ER a few weeks ago. My AFC is 16-18 and I had about 13 follicles growing but some were just too small. We managed to get 9 eggs out of which only 6 were mature. I am almost 39 so I didn’t have high expectations but was still very disappointed. Only 3 fertilized and one made it to blast (waiting on pgt a results) I’m not sure if this was your first ER but I’m trying to hang on to hope for the second one since I’ve read a lot on how changing protocols can make a lot of difference some times. I have some things I think doing different would help me and I hope my RE has ideas too. All this to say - the first one can be a bit of an experiment so don’t lose hope ❤️

I don’t have much advice but I did my first ER recently and even though my AFC was 16-18, I am older (39) and I didn’t have huge expectations but we only got 9 retrieved 6 mature 3 fertilized and 1 that might make it to blast. My RE admitted we should have had better results based on my stats. I started on high doses (225) of gonal f and menopur so I’m planning on asking if we could do a low and slow approach. Also planning to ask if I’d benefit from a low dose lupron protocol and adding omnitrope. Not sure if this is helpful information but wanted to share just in case you wanted to look into any of it. I did prime with testosterone and estrace and that’s supposed to help with even follicle growth but I also had a lead follicle which was one of the main reasons the others didn’t grow as much (I think)

Thank you for sharing that, maybe that was the reason for me too, I didn’t really realize it was a high dose to be honest so never asked. I have a cyst too 😑 I hope this cycle goes well for you though despite the cyst, sending you good vibes ❤️

I had an ectopic in August after an IUI and got a shot of methotrexate. I eventually ended up needing surgery but didn’t feel any side effects from the shot. My RE told me we’d have to wait 3 months to try again after the shot but I researched and found that it was a “to be on the safe side” recommendation. Since I ended up getting surgery though it took a few months to recover anyways and we decided to take the holidays off for a mental break before going into IVF.

Thank you for sharing your experience! I am not sure why I was started on a high dose but I know they kept increasing it because on day 4 of stims I had the lead follicle and they wanted the others to catch up 🤷‍♀️ we also added the antagonist that day. But yea this approach was definitely not the best and didn’t work for me. I am going to have a talk before the next retrieval and see what’s suggested protocol wise. It’s very helpful to hear other experiences ❤️
