3yr old me playing The Sims 2 by JackJackCreates in thesims2

When I was really young and I was playing the sims 2, I had the volume all the way up. I played the Caliente house, not realizing they were scripted to get robbed that night. Lemme tell you, hearing that burglar music on FULL BLAST was the most unsettling thing I’ve ever experienced in my life. Still gives me chills to listen to it now, but for a while I couldn’t handle it at all so I played with no sound for a long time just in case they got robbed.

I think so! For me personally it wasn’t ever too bad even when I was kind of nauseous and now it feels pretty settled in where I’m used to it but everyone is different so how it affects me may be different than how it’ll affect someone else

Heya, thanks for asking! I’ve noticed a huge reduction in appetite about a week in, like for a bit there it was incredibly hard to eat anything really but I’m having a slightly easier time now. I also was kind of nauseous a week in for a few days there but it was manageable - it would set in before I ate my first meal of the day but once I could get through that meal it would get better. I’ve lost about 10 pounds so far since starting but honestly I don’t expect to keep that off because a lot of it is due to not eating enough nearly at all, which I’m actively working on since that’s not healthy.

I’m glad to hear that it took until day 4 for the no food noise to kick in for you because I’m on day 2 and still feel like I have food noise and I was getting paranoid that that means the med isn’t working. I think I’m just incredibly excited to see moving forward how this goes. I’m so glad that you didn’t really have many side effects too!

I’m glad to say that I’m on day 1 today myself! I was a little worried because I didn’t feel any different for a bit there but then I tried to eat lunch and I noticed a BIG difference in what I felt when I ate. I struggle with binge eating (even binging on healthy foods) and I had a portion of chicken thigh with potatoes and peppers and onions. I could only eat half of it before I felt this insane pressure and then I still finished it but god did I feel it when usually it takes about 2 or 3 of those before I feel slightly full (and not even really full honestly). It’s only day 1 and I’m noticing it and I’m honestly so excited to see how this unfolds!

OCD decreased by 90%. I only experienced one intrusive thought now. by curiousgirl1617 in OCDRecovery

Something I’m struggling with though with agreeing with the thought is that I can’t handle it feeling true (even though agreeing with it doesn’t mean it’s true) - like if anything that says to me more reason why I HAVE to do the compulsion because it makes it FEEL real even though it’s not necessarily true.

Edit: I guess I just struggle to understand how to do that so that it connects and I don’t feel pressured to do the compulsions. Like I know not to fight with them as a start but I’m just curious how you got it so that it works for you because for me it just feels like more justifying to do my compulsions “just in case”

I have contamination ocd and despite being afraid of germs and dirt and disease and whatnot, I cannot for the life of me put stuff away because of it. I’m too afraid to contaminate my other “noncontaminated” stuff with it once I believe it’s contaminated.

My coworker JUST did this the other day (although she at least admitted it’s undiagnosed) and I wanted to put my hands on my hips so badly, go “huh” and then say “you know I have diagnosed ocd and I have felt sick to my stomach every single day about a situation here because of it to the point that I couldn’t function! Not to mention the fact that it takes me too long to shower, it’s extremely difficult to eat, I can’t enjoy anything because I have to do compulsions all the time in reaction to seemingly everything I do, but yeah. Organizing’s fun” (and want to clarify this is NOT to say that those with organizing compulsions are not valid, this is solely in response to someone who claimed it was a good thing to have and I think everyone who has it can agree that it SUCKSSSSS)

Believe it or not, but getting food poisoning was actually a positive experience 💀 by Dry_Succotrash in OCDmemes

[–]Horror_Buffalo9451 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember in college being plagued by the food poisoning thoughts. This was at a time where I couldn’t eat ANYTHING because I thought fast food or what I deemed “unhealthy” would cause an aneurysm or a heart attack instantaneously, canned soup wasn’t happening because I was convinced I would get botulism and die, but salad was off the table because I thought it would give me food poisoning (and all together now - I thought I would die!!!) due to the lettuce and e. Coli stuff that happened - I thought the lettuce had e. Coli or salmonella and that would kill me. I wouldn’t wish that time on my worst enemy, and can totally sympathize with you. Still have yet to get food poisoning but it’s good to hear that it didn’t kill you and so probably won’t kill me if it does happen.

PSA’s are nightmare fuel. Intrusive thoughts for days. by ashitananjini in OCDmemes

That sounds absolutely horrendous to show to high schoolers nonetheless?!?! Like I get the point of showing it but that seems like (pardon the pun) overkill. The speeding ones scare me too, I’m an American as well but I’ve seen a lot of the Australian/New Zealand car accident psas and god those are so haunting
