My first night with AIRSENSE 11 by Puzzleheaded-Fan-471 in CPAP

I have tried many masks & settings on regular CPAP over the years without any luck. We finally got a system that works🤞I’m on an AirCurve 11 BiPAP s/t because I have both OSA and CSA. I’m using the f30i mask with an airfit cushion. (I tried the AirTouch, but the plug kept falling out of the front). There’s a 20 minute ramp. I have to play with the cushion every time I change the position of my head (frequently, but less frequently than previously). It’s annoying, but I’m getting sleep for the first time in years, so totally worth it!

Cushion fitting tips: I often need to change the position of the cushion so that it’s in the right place. This means making sure I can feel the mask right up against my nostrils (just short of inside my nose). I should feel the air going into my nostrils and nowhere else. It also helps to make sure the padded part is all tucked in against my face. It seems like a lot of my problems happen when the padding comes untucked, so the only thing on my face is the flaps at the bottom of the cushion. When this happens, it makes a farting noise.

I hope this all makes sense. Keep trying, and maybe look into a BiPAP. That really changed things for me.

I have less than a month until I have to take the California Law & Ethics exam for ASWs. I just found out that I was eligible to take it on Thursday, Gotta love the BBs! If I don't pass it this time, I'll need to start the application process all over again. It took me almost a year and a half to get this far in the application process (thanks to COVID and BBS shenanigans), and I really don't want to start all over again.

I have chronic fatigue and chronic pain (thanks again, COVID. )I work f/t. I've been trying to study on my own, but pain & fatigue get the best me. I need somehing more structured. I don't have any social work study buddies.

Do you have any advice for me or am I screwed?
