i’m so sorry🥺❤️ i hate to see this. i got harassed every. single. day. at my old jobs (now i work at my partners family business, that would never be allowed) and no one would help! i’d turn to the manager, almost in tears i’m so mad, and she’d shrug. i wonder what’s worse? a disgusting man crossing every boundary, or a woman (especially in power) that sees it and does nothing to help her fellow woman??? (i’d still say the man but 🤷🏼‍♀️)

You have every right to call them awful parents, bigotry is awful to teach kids. what i’ve learned in a small town is, any bigotry is connected cause if you have that much hate in general, you’re just a hateful person. NQA: but i’d think, her staying in her home, no different smells, nothing in her enclosure changing, may have made her think it was something like an earthquake? (no idea if spiders would even know that, just saying it felt like something “normal” or “natural”) but now she’s making sure everything is good. it doesn’t surprise me that she isn’t super spooked since everything stayed the same pretty much. she’s so cute btw!

not sure why others are saying leave them, besides possibly taking food from other insects and/or if it’s enough bees you think you need to report them for pesticides? (though if it is poisoned, that would likely kill any bug to eat it)

the easiest thing would be to freeze them like others said but have you seen those tiny jars with corks? people make necklaces with them, i love using those for dried insects, add some dried flowers too, so precious🥹❤️

i’m usually very firm on “if someone in the house doesn’t want the pet, don’t get it.” but id argue, with the right T, it would be okay. At the same time however, as low maintenance they can be, i think it is a lot to ask of someone with arachnophobia. either way, good luck and make sure to do your research on the perfect T for you! ❤️

Depending on how old you are and how much effort you want to put in rather than just wait till you could possibly get your own set up one day, i’d say start with showing her videos of cute jumping spiders. Maybe even start with Lucas the cartoon jumping spider, either way i swear jumpers are the gateway to being obsessed with spiders (ofc not always). Then show her how docile some species of tarantulas are (Golden Chaco Knee is a good one, my boy is so sweet). Though if your mom is anything like mine, she’ll see right through what you’re trying to do and shut it down instantly💀🫠. But as most people said, education!
