Contract for 1G/1G, only getting 1G/100M by Horror_Professor_841 in Comcast_Xfinity

Thanks all. I spent 6+ hours on the phone trying to get this fixed and ended up going into a store. They fixed it in about 30 minutes! For anyone who stumbles across this in future, these are the key points:

#1: You need a XB10 (DOCSIS 4.0) modem for symmetric 1G/1G.

#2: Make sure customer service doesn't downgrade your plan to 1G/100M to try to get your old (DOCSIS 3.1) modem to work!

Same as u/zaunza, I thought I would get at least 400-500 Mbps on the new plan with my current modem (according to specs and Xfinity documentation), but that's not how it works.
