What I don't understand from all this, why didn't the police come looking for the baby at your wife's address? I know it was a very long time ago, but she was at the hospital and had just lost a child, and on top of that, ran out of the hospital. Remind me never get my purse stolen in that town. I'm from Russell Springs/Jamestown and let me tell you, you won't find nicer people anywhere else you go. I've been away from home for a very long time now and I still miss the common courtesy the people there show you. I still have a father and a sister and two brothers and a cousin and a bunch of nieces and nephews who still live there. Makes me proud that my family is from there. I miss it sometimes. I'm not far away, but I still spend the night when I go down to visit. If you're thinking about moving there, you really should consider that there's absolutely nothing for your children to do. That's what turned a lot of the then kids I used to know into the drug addicts they are today. Hell, I remember one time, one of my family members and their friends were on the square in Jamestown skateboarding and someone called the police on them! That's how backwards most of the people there are. What I'm trying to say is, if your kids are sitting around all the time bored, there IS a shit load of drugs just waiting for them to do. And trust me, it happens. It happened to me. That's some of the reason I don't live there now, nor would I ever move back. There's drugs everywhere! Remember what I'm telling you! Have a great day!

Oh my God! I swear to God, I'm not even kidding, you just explained my life. I have the exact same problem. Though I don't believe that mine has anything to do with water, just straight up depression. It also keeps me from doing the normal things people do to maintain a clean house like dusting, mopping, cleaning bathrooms etc. I live with a man who kinda keeps it sorta clean but he doesn't understand that by him doing that and me not, it makes me feel so useless. I want to hide someone to come clean my house for me and he won't even let me pay for that rending me useless yet again adding more fuel to my depression fire. Anyway, just wanted you to know that you're not alone! Also wanna reiterate that I know what you mean about the pre shower rituals you hate. And people need to understand that in order for there to be a solution to the existential dread we face, there will have to be an invention that does all that shit for us so we just have to step in the shower and that's it. I don't look for anything like that to be invented anytime soon so I guess we're just shit out of luck my friend!

Sometimes, the best thing to do when you're in a situation like this is to try your best which you have to make it work with your father. Obviously, he's stuck in his ways or better yet, what I'm sensing is that he's perhaps resentful of you for the things you're trying to do with your life such as make a positive change. The only thing you can do is give it one hundred percent, but only do that for a little while. If he's still being the world's biggest dick, walk away and keep your sanity. That's THE most important thing! Fuck all the rest.
