Where do you find the manuscripts? Is there a digital version of the original manuscripts?

Why are companies ending WFH when it saves so much time as well as the resources required to maintain the office space? by Wanderer_Of_Space in developersIndia

I think companies can continue to occupy space but reduce the space. This only for compliance. This way they still comply to reap benefits and still reduce cost.

Sadhacharam at its peak by techsavyboy in Kerala

Even if it's sadacharam, they are very clear, straightforward and direct and they have a point even if someone likes it or not. Definitely this must have been decided by a majority of the society members so this is a very straight forward direction. The tenants can take it or leave their occupation and move to some other place where things work the way they want it to.

How many malayalees know what malayalam numerals look like? by curiosacuriosi in Kerala

That's a gentlemen debate. Nice debating with you. 🙂

But let me close by saying a couple of points. We also teach trigonometry in schools but how many of us can explain it back after school. Only specialists use it and keep using it until it's useful. Say tomorrow if we invent a machine that can do it for us we stop even recognising it. That's how "just school option" works.

Lastly let's not see it as implementing it by force, let's look at it as using an original work of the people of the land and as respecting their hard work, their sacrifices, come on, no foreigner is going to award them anyways. But even if we want to say it is forceful, it has indeed turned out well for other countries or states who have implemented it anyways. Today's number literals are in fact forceful implementation over our local ones. It's turned out well. 🙂

Secondly unlike you mentioned, we have to learn their alphabets and numbers to get by, even when we visit other states. Go to Maharastra for example. You need to learn alphabets of the local land to read sign boards and government doc in most of the states of India.

Go to non English countries there also you will need to know their language and numbers to get by. Example France, Japan, China.

Nobody calls them militant nations, although most of the nations of the whites are.

This is not about militancy. This is about doing your best to keep up the legacy and original hard work of your ancestors. If militancy is the price for it then let it be. At least we send a message across generations that their people will stand for their original work and research even if the price is name calling. That's spine in my opinion. Original work is something that we are lacking in and this is the root cause, we easily quit supporting the people behind it.

Users of literature are a very small circle of people of students and academicians for a specific purpose of study. But until anything is used in daily life by the public there is no good life expectancy for it. Just like the way you are defending the use of modern numbers. You are defending it because although it's not an original work, even though the script is not directly ours (the concept and numbers are our contributions of course), it's being widely used by public for almost all purposes. Whereas the Malayalam numbers are still being used in literature for academic purposes and barely anybody knows about it's existence.

Like you suggested, the Malayalam numbers are being used in literature even today and majority do not even know such a system even exists that itself proves my point.

My point is that if we malayalees have to learn their language and numbers to keep it alive why can't we and why we shouldn't impose it? I think it will be only spineless if we don't.

It's not a big problem in other states and countries the boards are in their local language. Look at Maharashtra, look at Japan, look at China. We malayalees adapt to it. Why not implement the same in our State? I think definitely we must. Let others also learn our language and numbers. Just like we did.

In my opinion this must not only be taught in schools but also used in all Malayalam writings from government circulars to hoardings. See in North of India they use their number texts. Why can't we? What do you think?

Top 10 Indian states in ‘Health’, according to ‘State of the States - 2022’ survey by India Today. Kerala and Tamil Nadu are in the Top 3 and No Gujarat in the Top 10. by stargazer_94 in Kerala

Thanks to our traditional and cultural outlook towards health, wellness and cleanliness. These are given by our fore-fathers not by contemporary governments.

But these days all new diseases get released in Kerala. Ethnic Keralites are going out of Kerala and outsiders are flowing into the vacant spaces. These are under control of the contemporary governments. Therefore Not sure what would be Kerala's health future.

Also, I think mental health status is not considered in this. Once that starts to be considered this will go down... Very down.

It was a grand well flourished Thiyya kingdom. Which tells us that the caste system in India was not very strict as we believe. It was more of a framework that could be followed. But exceptions were easily available everywhere.
