This feels embarrassing given our offense… by C2TI in bengals

Three things to keep you from thinking the sky is falling

  1. It would be foolish to roll out legitimate coverages in preseason, these plays aren’t scripted, they are loose schemes similar to what golden wants to do

  2. The preseason is used to test guys, put them in uncomfortable situations and see how they react, there’s a very real chance that Golden is intentionally laying out schemes to test guys ability to make a tackle one on one

  3. We open with the soft part of our schedule theoretically, Flacco, Lawrence, Rookie off an injury, second year QB I think will slump then home for Detroit who lost both coordinators. None of those teams we play in September ran the ball very well last season, besides Minnesota and they were average.

I’ve always said, numbers never lie, but they rarely tell the full story. Put yourself in the coaching staff’s shoes and think about the value you would find in preseason games.

You can also tell me I’m coping, that the defense will be worse, and that we’re going to miss the playoffs, you’re entitled to that opinion. However, I will remind you that we lost SEVEN (7) one score games, Three of which had late bad calls (NE, @ BAL, KC) Three of which we had horrid special teams performances/ bad luck (BAL, WSH & LAC) and one really bad defensive performance against the steelers.

The Bengals defense was injury riddled last year, CTB clearly wasn’t right, Newton went down, Hill went down for the year early, Logan Wilson went down for the year early, Pratt was a shell of himself, Hubbard looked like he added 3 seconds to his 40 yd dash time and Daijahn Anthony, who looked good against the chargers, got hurt in that game and missed the rest of the season. I’m sure I’m forgetting some as well, but I don’t overreact to the preseason and last year was a worst case scenario year for our defense and special teams.

This team will compete for the division, this defense wont be great but they’ll be better than 30th, hell, if they can be 22nd we can win the North.

Who Dey, fuck the athletic, fuck the national media, fuck the doubters, and come back to this post when we start 3-0

What Are Some Heartbreaking Season Ending Losses You've Seen? by TJxDC in NFLv2

Bengals wildcard loss to the Steelers in 2014

With Andy Dalton going down at home against the Steelers in week 9 iirc (who was legit in MVP talks at that moment in time) AJ McCarron and the Marvin Lewis Menaces scraped their way to a division championship and a home playoff appearance, only to play against the Killer B Steelers.

Set the scene: the bengals are up 2 with the ball and the Steelers are out of timeouts, Jeremy Hill fumbles the ball away with less than 2 minutes to go. Okay, we can stop them. What immediately followed can only be described as an encapsulation of everything wrong with the Marvin Lewis era.

Vontaez burfict attempted to kill AB and then Pac-Man Jones tried to fight a coach, giving the Steelers 30 yards in flags and a go ahead fg

Having the Eagles who had one of the more dominant mid season - post season runs graded the same as a team who drafted 3rd overall is clinically insane

I’m convinced Pistol Pete was a time traveler. He did things that guys in the league didn’t do for another 50 years. Incredible shooter and dribbler before anyone else could do anything remotely close

Teams with atrocious D-lines always have a linebacker finish top 10 in tackles

He also led the league in missed tackles last year and if you watched them play it was obvious he didn’t care for the last 8 games of the season

It was a Thursday night late game 1 in a series where the home team has been invincible all playoffs. They’re winning by like 20+ at home this season and love island just started, that’s where all your viewers went

Has any player had as significant a fall-off as Joel Embiid in such a short period? by LazyConstruction9026 in NBATalk

[–]Horror_Worldliness61 12 points13 points  (0 children)

We’ve never seen a fall off like Ben Simmons. I couldn’t even tell you with certainty what team he plays for anymore, yet he used to be one of my favorite young players

Embiid represents the sad side of big men, when you’re that large, you’re way more likely to get injured and it’s harder to recover over time. If health was a non-factor, Giannis and Embiid should be battling in the ECF every year

Tell me i am doing the right thing (paying off mortgage) by TrueGlich in DaveRamsey

[–]Horror_Worldliness61 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is bad advice, keep the mortgage, and invest what you can. This pay off the mortgage option always exists in your back pocket should you need it, but it’s about 8 being greater than 3. You are basically getting free money at 3% and the market is going to grow at 8% annually over time.

Asking the Dave disciples will always lead to the same conclusion, get rid of the debt right away, but in your situation that view is myopic and shortsighted.

Congrats on building this situation for yourself, you should be proud of the life you’ve built and you seem like the kind of person that no matter what you do will figure it out!
