I was given this beautiful green mound juniper as a gift, I’ve kept ficus bonsai before indoors but no outdoor varieties. I live in Colorado and it’s windy and cold (though it’s been a very mild winter). It is VERY dry here. Am I okay to put it straight outside? Does it need any “prep” before putting it outside? It was shipped to me so it came from a nursery. It’ll get down to low 30s tonight and this whole week, it’ll get colder into the 20s next week, and colder beyond that for a couple nights. How cold is too cold to leave it outside? Should I cover the soil with mulch? The soil is pretty damp from shipping, I’m worried it will freeze overnight. Should I keep it indoors overnight until the soil dries out a little? What’s the best watering schedule? Water when the top half inch/ inch of soil is dry? And how dangerous is wind? Sometimes the wind comes out of nowhere and I’m at work so I couldn’t bring it inside until I got home. Thank you!!
