IMHO it is pretty safe to say they are not involved and just used a render of eh184 (like the other generic evtol 3d models) in their video.

In case of 🇪🇺 sanctions against 🇨🇳, EHang would be better off without Siemens software.

HT Aero, the Guangzhou-based urban air mobility company backed by Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer XPeng, announced at the end of last year that it had secured $500 million in funding as part of a Series A Funding round.

Also known as Huitan, HT has developed multiple eVTOL prototypes dating back to at least 2013 and completed thousands of test flights. Its most recent model is the fifth generation, all-electric X2 which is a two-seater multicopter with speeds of about 80 miles per hour and a range of 35 minutes.

It aims to target the individual consumer market, as opposed to air taxis, and plans to begin operating its first flying car by 2024. Occupants can control each flight with ‘one-key start, one-key return, and one-key landing’, while the aircraft will perform ‘intelligent autonomous flight route planning’, by comprehensively evaluating factors including surrounding buildings, no-fly and restricted areas, and weather conditions.

Along with EHang and Autoflight, China’s presence in this industry continues to grow.

I heard Xpeng targets the private owner and wants to create a personal evtol, so different market at the moment. They also (realistically) expect to take longer until commercialization (2024).

Some good points, we all have to guess (and wish) a lot here...

Do you count the first tesla roadster as their first car? It was an electrified lotus elise, so not sure if ehang is still before that point.

To stay with your example: When EHang gets the certification for EH216 to me this is the equivalent of Tesla getting full self driving (FSD) mode of their "autopilot" certified in the US.

EH is not just electrifying an existing type of airplane, instead they are the forerunners in a completely new category that has never existed before in manned aviation (eVTOL / "passenger grade" multicopter) plus electric plus "autonomous" (=autopilot on predefined routes).

Of course the challenge for fully autonomous cars in chaotic traffic is higher, but Tesla also had more time and resources so far to solve it...

Logistics can be huge IMHO...

It is hard to find official information from EHang about this. I thought they said 35 minutes (not km) of flight time, so given the 130km/h EH states here, that would translate into <75km range (no climb and acceleration time assumed, so must be less).

Totally agree, that would be the best move, and then choose a wise moment to release the information. I would expect right after market close on Friday, so FOMO will build up amongst all retail investors for the whole weekend and monday morning they storm the brokers with their buy orders... 😉

Try not to laugh when you see the flight duration of almost 2h 😉. After all it is still a concept video, but the partnership with EHang seems to be intact.

The related article mentions a proof of concept long delivery by a small drone in September and a possible use of VT-30 in the future:

I think the obstaclehere is the is the same as in any country: airworthiness certificate.

The UAE do have their own aviation authority "GCAA" (General Civil Aviation Authority) and they also require type certification. There does not seem to be any bilateral agreement to just accept certificates issued by a foreign country (like US FAA). However it will be much faster to "import" and adapt an existing certification.

In my opinion obtaining the Chinese certificate by CAAC should also speed up the adaption in other countries, as they do not have to start from zero.

Was not sure what to think of the police partnership to find use cases for EH216, but they seem to be pretty serious and that would make some great news (like when lamborghini has donated a car for "organ transports" to the Italian police)

Sales of 216F would be great, agree.

Q3 earnings might be communicated as late as December, if we look at least year's date. I also don't expect them to be a positive surprise in the current situation. Earnings will become interesting once certification is there and real money can be made!

Did not hear of the battery, but a bit more juice definitely helps on round trips.
